The Slovenian guard dominated Tuesday’s game as the Lakers defeated his former side, the Dallas Mavericks. However, the fans were delighted to watch the newly-formed Lakers duo’s chemistry. One remarkable moment involving LeBron and Luka sent the fans into a wave of nostalgia as they recreated an iconic scene from the 2008 movie, “Semi-Pro.”

With less than seven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter and both teams leveled at 88 each, Luka Doncic dribbled near post with Max Christie guarding him. On the other hand, LeBron stood beyond the arc with PJ Washington on defense. The Lakers duo constantly passed the ball to each other before the four-time NBA champion scored a three-pointer.

The incident prompted many fans on social media to reminisce about Hollywood actor Will Ferrell’s Semi-Pro. The movie features a similar sequence, where Ferrell’s character, Jackie Moon, repeatedly exchanged passes with his teammate. As the Lakers recreated the scene, Doncic impersonated Ferrell while LeBron played his teammate’s role. The fans couldn’t hold back and dropped hilarious reactions to the iconic moment.

However, some fans were critical of the Lakers duo and expressed their frustration in the comments section.

While Los Angeles clinched the victory against Dallas 107-99, Luka Doncic had a dominating outing against his former team. During the game, the Slovenian, who was shocked by the trade news, made his feelings clear as he was caught staring at Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison.

Luka Doncic Records First Triple-Double With The Lakers

The star duo of LeBron and Luka combined to score 46 points, 17 rebounds, and 15 assists. While James led the Lakers in scoring with his 27 points on 64.7% shooting from the field, Luka registered a triple-double. The Lakers guard scored 19 points, 15 rebounds, and 12 assists.

With this win, the Lakers improved their regular-season record to 35-21, securing the fourth spot in the Western Conference standings. JJ Redick’s side will next host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday amid their six-game home stretch.
