Beyoncé Fans Call Out Kacey Musgraves For Not Looking Happy About Beyoncé Winning “Best Country Album” At The Grammys

Kacey Musgraves isn’t going home empty handed from the Grammys, but she is going home with all of social media thinking that she wasn’t too happy about Beyonce’s “Best Country Album” Grammy award.

Beyoncé released her country album (that she clarified “wasn’t a country album”) Cowboy Carter back in March of 2024. It was certainly a cultural moment, but after it failed to be nominated at many of last year’s country music award shows, many assumed that Beyoncé’s short stay in the country genre was going to end with nothing to show for it.

However, Beyoncé did score a nomination for “Best Country Album” at the Grammys, and the category was a real who’s who:

And then tonight, Beyoncé surprisingly won the “Best Country Album” award… and even she was shocked:

That win marked the 33rd time Beyoncé took home a trophy at the Grammys, and the first time a black woman won in the category in over 50 years. As historical of a moment as it was, there was plenty of, “Did she really deserve it?” commentary online after she was officially given the award. After all, besides Post Malone, she was going up against some tried and true country music artists in Chris Stapleton, Lainey Wilson and Kacey Musgraves that were also nominated for the award that’s generally reserved to those who dedicate themselves to the country genre.
And speaking of Kacey Musgraves, after the winner for “Best Country Album” was announced, the internet noticed that the “Deeper Well” singer didn’t look all that enthused as Beyoncé walked up to accept her award.
