Travis Kelce Plays Coy on His Travel Plans as Mom Donna Kelce Questions Why He’s So ‘Tan’

Travis has been “traveling nonstop” with girlfriend Taylor Swift, a source told PEOPLE in April

Travis Kelce is keeping the details of his recent travels close to the vest — even with his mom.

The Kansas City Chiefs star and his brother Jason Kelce welcomed their mom Donna back to their podcast for a special Mother’s Day episode of New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, released on May 7.

At one point during the show, Donna, 72, commented on Travis looking more tan than usual, presumably from his ongoing offseason travels with girlfriend Taylor Swift. “You look a little dark, Trav. You have a tan?” Donna asked. Travis, 35. fumbled through his words a bit before joking that he’s just been in his “cubicle.”

“I’m in my cubicle,” Travis said before admitting, “I’m everywhere. I’m everywhere, mommy.”

Donna caught on that her son didn’t want to share more and responded, “Got it. Looks like you guys were having fun.”

The subject was swiftly changed to the upcoming Mother’s Day holiday and whether or not it’s a money-fueled holiday.

Last month, an insider told PEOPLE Travis and Swift, 35, have “been traveling nonstop and very much enjoy it.” The couple are “making the most of their time off together,” the source said, before the tight end returns for another season with the Chiefs after deciding not to retire.

“They are hanging out with friends, too,” added the source. “It’s a special time for them.”

At another point in the episode, Travis asked Donna about her upcoming travel plans and even teased the possibility of joining her in Mexico. “Let me know. I might just magically appear,” Travis told his mom. “I don’t like to tell everybody where I’m going, but I do like to just pop up on people,” he added.

Jason, meanwhile, did not approve of Travis referring to Donna as “mommy” on the Mother’s Day episode. “Travis, you’re a grown man, stop calling Mom ‘Mommy,’ ” the ESPN Monday Night Countdown star, 37, instructed his little brother.

But that only made Travis lean into the “mommy” bit more and began annoying his older brother by sing-songing the word.

When Jason asked his mom if she thinks it’s “weird at all” that Travis “still” calls her “mommy,” Donna said, “It’s kind of funny, I think it’s hysterical.”
