Andrea Bocelli and his 11-year-old daughter, Virginia, perform a heartfelt new duet titled “Dare to Be.”
Two generations of Bocellis unite in a beautifully harmonized duet for Cabrini, an upcoming film that also marks the acting debut of 11-year-old Virginia Bocelli.
Over the past few years, renowned Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli has been showcasing the musical talents of his gifted children both in the studio and on stage. In 2022, Andrea, Matteo, and Virginia Bocelli collaborated on their first family Christmas album, which included a touching duet of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah with Virginia, his youngest child.
Now 11 years old, Virginia has once again joined her 65-year-old father for a heartfelt duet in the upcoming film Cabrini.
The music video for their song, Dare To Be, released on 23 February, captures the father-daughter duo sharing a tender moment. Seated together on an armchair, they sing harmoniously in Italian and English, their bond evident through gentle embraces.
Cabrini also marks Virginia’s acting debut, as she takes on a small role in the story of Francesca Cabrini, a Catholic missionary who championed the equality, health, and happiness of New York City’s disenfranchised immigrants in the late 19th century.
Directed by Alejandro Monteverde, the English-language film stars Cristiana Dell’Anna, John Lithgow, David Morse, Virginia Bocelli, and Rolando Villazón.
Dare To Be, composed by Andrea Bocelli, Gene Back, Giovanni Caccamo, and Courtney Rodriguez, serves as an original song featured in the end credits of Cabrini, a production by Angel Studios.
Ryan Svendsen, head of music at Angel Studios, praised the song in a statement: “Dare To Be captures the spirit of Francesca Cabrini, who dedicated her life to bringing light and hope to those living on the margins.
“We are honored to showcase the extraordinary musicality of Andrea Bocelli and Virginia Bocelli. Their stunning vocals in this beautifully crafted duet amplify Cabrini’s essence, perfectly complementing this incredible film.”
Here’s to many more harmonious collaborations between this talented father-daughter duo!
