A More Family-Friendly Approach
Burger King’s U.S. and Canada President Tom Curtis said in a CNBC interview that the restaurant chain is opting for a family-first approach in its marketing. “Where we’re really starting to lean in now that we’ve made some progress in both operations and in our restaurants is on a family-first marketing strategy,” Curtis said.
“We’re finding that there will be chapters to this as we go through time, and right now this is a family strategy chapter, where we’ve done enough work and transformed our restaurant operations to the extent we are proud of,” Curtis continued. “We’re inviting families back in, and we’re finding that we’re getting better retention when they do come back in.”

Gerard Butler Nearly Wasn’t Cast in the Live-Action Movie
When How to Train Your Dragon hits theaters next month, fans will find that Gerard Butler will be reprising his role as Stoick the Vast, a part he voiced in the original animated How to Train Your Dragon trilogy. However, the Den of Thieves star nearly didn’t get the role in the live-action film.
The film’s director, Dean DeBlois, who also helmed the original animated movies, said many factors almost led to Butler not lending his skills to the new film, including scheduling conflicts and even other actors being considered for the part.
“I (texted) Gerry and I said, ‘Just so you know, we really tried, and it’s really disappointing to me that you can’t assume the role,” DeBlois said in a previous interview via Screen Rant. Butler said he wrote back. “Immediately, I went, ‘Wait a minute,’ What are you saying here?…Dean fought really hard for me, when maybe the studio was saying, ‘Do we not get somebody bigger?’”
DeBlois said Butler was the perfect actor for the role as he said he’s interested in the Viking lore and mythology, and he could draw on his personal experiences to “dig into” the role of Stoick and the relationship his character has with his son, Hiccup (Thames).
