Conor McGregor fight witness reveals reason for Ibiza club brawl and what happened after video ended

Luke Davies

A witness has ‘revealed’ what happened after Conor McGregor appeared to strike a man in an Ibiza nightclub on Tuesday.

This article contains graphic/violent content, which some viewers may find upsetting.

McGregor, 36, has not fought in the UFC since he sustained a doctor stoppage defeat to Dustin Poirier almost four years ago in July 2021.

And in recent days, the Irishman has been enjoying the sun and the delights of Ibiza. He has been pictured alongside several celebrities, including former model and reality TV star Katie Price and O Beach Ibiza owner Wayne Lineker, brother of ex-footballer Gary.

But on Tuesday evening, the fighter became embroiled in a physical altercation with a club goer and appeared to throw two punches with his left hand before several other people got in between the pair.

But what happened next?

One witness told the Sun: “Clearly something’s been said to annoy him and he’s reacted very badly.

“The guy seemed to fall to the floor, and his mates came to pick him up and get him away.

“There [didn’t appear to be any] consequences for Conor, but the guy he punched was taken away, and I didn’t see him again.”

While another added: “Someone came up to them and when Conor hit him, about five people fell to the floor as the guy stumbled back.

“It was a bit like bowling pins, but the guy was really shaken by the hits.

Shock moment Conor McGregor knocks man out with TWO punches in Ibiza nightclub

“About a minute later, the bouncers came and got him on the back and took him out of the club, because he had annoyed Conor.

“It was right before close anyway. There was no messing around, they just removed him.

“Conor left through the garden a bit later, he didn’t look very happy that they got into a fight.”

This is not the first time McGregor has hit the headlines for the wrong reasons in recent years.

The Irishman was found liable for the assault of Nikita Hand in a Dublin hotel six years ago after a lengthy civil court case in the Republic of Ireland back in November 2024.

Hand was awarded €248,000 (£206,000) in damages.

In February 2025, BBC News reported that McGregor intended to appeal the finding of the civil case.

Exclusive: Paddy Pimblett has made his feelings clear on Conor McGregor as shocking Ibiza nightclub fight video emerges

The UFC lightweight contender did not hold back with his assessment of Conor McGregor.

Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett has made his feelings clear on Conor McGregor in an exclusive interview with SPORTbible.

Pimblett, 30, has the lightweight title in his sights, but he has already captured the hearts and minds of UFC fans all over the world.

Some have drawn comparisons between Pimblett and McGregor due to their outspoken and larger-than-life personas. But their lives could not be further apart right now.

The Liverpudlian is on a seven-fight winning streak, sporting victories over Michael Chandler and Tony Ferguson along the way. Whereas McGregor has not fought since he lost to Dustin Poirier in July 2021.

And a return to the octagon seems a long way away based on the Irishman’s recent actions in his personal life.

On Tuesday (June 17), footage emerged of McGregor appearing to strike a man in an Ibiza nightclub.

This comes after the Irishman was found liable for the assault of Nikita Hand in a Dublin hotel six years ago after a lengthy civil court case in the Republic of Ireland back in November 2024.

Hand was awarded €248,000 (£206,000) in damages.

In February 2025, BBC News reported that McGregor intended to appeal the finding of the civil case.

UFC President Dana White recently admitted that he’s “not fighting anytime soon” when pressed on McGregor’s situation.

So, what does Pimblett think about McGregor and whether the Irishman will fight again?

Speaking to SPORTbible on behalf of casino.org, before the recent footage of McGregor emerged, Pimblett said: “I don’t think McGregor’s coming back.

“I want to be the champion before anything. Anyone who says they wouldn’t take a fight with him, though, is a liar. He’s the biggest name in the sport, and it’s going to get you more money than fighting anyone else.

“If the fight ever came to fruition, I think we all know I’m taking it.

“That being said, I think we all know for now that he’s not fighting for a long time; it’s one of those.”

Who Paddy fights next is still unclear, but his next move will be heavily influenced by the result of Ilia Topuria vs Charles Oliveira at UFC 317 on June 29.

Pimblett himself believes the UFC will want to make the Topuria fight because “it’s a money fight”.

“If Ilia [Topuria] wins and says he wants to fight me, the UFC will make that fight because they know it’s a money fight,” he told Tom Aspinall on his YouTube channel.

“I know I’d beat him… I know how to beat him. No one goes for his weaknesses; everyone just tries to have a boxing match with him.”

Woman who accused Conor McGregor of raping her wins court case as jury rules against UFC fighter

Conor McGregor has been found liable of assaulting Nikita Hand after a civil court case at the High Court in Dublin.

Conor McGregor has been found liable for the assault of a woman in a Dublin hotel six years ago after a civil court case in the Republic of Ireland.

Dublin woman Nikita Hand accused the UFC fighter of raping her at a hotel in the Irish capital after a Christmas night out in December 2018.

Hand alleged McGregor pinned her to a bed, choked her three times and “brutally raped and battered” her.

A civil jury at Dublin High Court was told she was left with extensive injuries, including bruising along her hands and wrists, a bloodied scratch to her breast and tenderness to her neck.

McGregor denied all the allegations against him, as did co-defendant James Lawrence.

The MMA fighter told the court he had consensual sex with Ms Hand in a penthouse at the Beacon Hotel in the south of the city.

But following two weeks of evidence and several days listening to closing remarks, the jury of eight women and four men found McGregor liable for the assault of Hand.

The jury ruled that McGregor’s co-defendant Lawrence did not assault Hand.

McGregor has been ordered to pay Hand more than €248,000 (£206,000) in damages.

The trial was a civil case after the Irish director of public prosecutions decided not to charge McGregor criminally following an investigation.

As reported by the Daily Mail, McGregor shook his head when the verdict was announced on Friday evening.

McGregor was joined in court by his fiancé Dee Devlin, sister Aoife McGregor, mother Margaret and father Tony in addition to other family members.

Hand was accompanied by her boyfriend, her mother Debbie and other supporters.

Speaking to reporters outside the court following her victory, Hand said the last two weeks had been a “nightmare”.

When asked how it felt to be believed, she added: “I have no words. It is unbelievable. Thanks so much.”
