Phil Robertson, the patriarch of the family and original star of the show, will not be returning for the show’s reboot due to his recent diagnosis of Alzheimer disease.

However, fan-favorites Uncle Si and Miss Kay are expected to return for the show’s reboot.

Miss Kay, Phil Robertson’s wife, is still expected to return to the show despite currently recovering from a fall. “For my mom, it’s been a lot better this past week, because she was really not doing good,” said Jase Robertson on an episode of the family’s podcast, “Unashamed with the Robertson Family.”

Jase Robertson also shared an update regarding father Phil Robertson’s health. “The number one question I get everywhere I go: ‘How’s your dad doing?’ Now, I’m just giving the blunt truth: I say, ‘Not good,’” said Jase on the podcast episode.
