Emma Raducanu was in the stands of Centre Court on Sunday watching Carlos Alcaraz come from a set down to beat Andrey Rublev 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 and improve his head-to-head record to 3-0. Her presence during his match only added fuel to the dating rumors.

Raducanu is also Alcaraz’s mixed doubles partner. When the US Open revamped their mixed doubles event, the Spaniard approached Raducanu to team up with him. The youngsters have known each other since 2021. But they have maintained that they are just good friends whenever journalists ask them about the dating rumors.

A few days ago, a British reporter sparked controversy when he asked Cameron Norrie about Raducanu’s dating life and whether he is dating the 2021 US Open champion. Nick Kyrgios too hinted that something is going on between them.

Amid all these, Raducanu, after her Wimbledon exit, watched the five-time Grand Slam champion inched closer to his sixth Major victory. She has also made an appearance during one of his matches at the Queen’s Club Championships, which he ended up winning by beating Jiri Lehecka.

Raducanu’s campaign at Wimbledon ended after a straight-set defeat to World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka in the third round. She has now lost two consecutive matches against the Belarusian.

Raducanu had reached the fourth round of the grass-court Major twice, including last year. She produced her best performance this season when she played in the quarterfinals of the Miami Open- also her best since the US Open win. Raducanu has not yet won her career’s second singles title.

Carlos Alcaraz to play Cameron Norrie next

Facing Cameron is always very difficult. We have had tough battles in the past. Facing him is almost like a nightmare, to be honest, it’s very tough from the baseline. I’m not surprised that he’s in the quarterfinals, I’ve seen him playing great tennis.

Carlos Alcaraz said at the press conference

The five-time Grand Slam champion has faced the 29-year-old six times, winning four of those matches. They last faced each other in Rio back in 2023. The upcoming match will be their first meeting on grass.

When he lost at Queen’s [to Jakub Mensik in his opening round), he stayed for five days training morning, afternoon, and night. I saw it, so I’m not surprised to see him competing at this level. Here he is playing at home, so the crowd will be on his side, it will be different. I have to be mentally strong, stay focused all the time if I want to beat him.

Carlos Alcaraz added

While the 22-year-old is a four-time champion on grass, Norrie has not yet lifted a title on the surface. Only once he reached a grass-court final: at the 2021 Queen’s Club Championships which he lost to Matteo Berrettini.

The former World No.8 produced his best in Majors when he reached the semifinals at Wimbledon, losing the match to eventual champion Novak Djokovic, who he could face if they both reach the final. It’s the 24-time Grand Slam champion who Alcaraz defeated in the Wimbledon finals last two seasons.

If the World No.2 wins his third consecutive Wimbledon, he will also complete the Channel Slam because, at the French Open, he came from two sets down to overcome World No.1 Jannik Sinner in the final. The Murcia native has reached six finals this season, winning five titles (three on clay).
