Jake Paul name-checked five future opponents he wants to target next, now that he breezed past Julio Cesar Chavez Jr over 10 rounds at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, on Saturday, the 28th of June.
Paul was in firm control through eight to nine rounds of the fight, save for a late rally from Chavez, who uncorked a few noteworthy strikes yet failed to do anywhere near enough to even be competitive with the content creator. Victory advanced Paul’s career to 12 wins (7 KOs) against one defeat — a loss to Tommy Fury.
Paul had been linked to a wealth of big-name opponents of late, and now that he’ll receive a world ranking from organizations like the WBA and WBC, he could either pursue a world championship shot, or try and lure one of the sport’s best fighters into the ring.

“I want tougher fighters,” he then said after the announcer confirmed the judges had rewarded him with a dominant win on the scorecards.
“I want to be world champion.”
He then reeled off his hit-list:
“‘Zurdo’ [Gilberto Ramirez] looked slow as s*** tonight, that would be easy work, too. Badou Jack, I want everybody. Anthony Joshua, Gervonta [Davis], and Tommy [Fury] — stop running.”
Earlier at the Most Valuable Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions card, Ramirez, who is an Oscar de la Hoya fighter, retained his WBC cruiserweight title against Yuniel Dorticos, but had to come from behind to do so. As his output at 200 pounds appears more muted when compared to his light heavyweight and super middleweight days, Paul’s point about looking slow did have merit. A fight between Ramirez and Paul always appeared likely considering the placement of Paul and Ramirez at the event, albeit fighting separate fights. Paul could also secure a world title shot against Jack.
An exhibition with ‘Tank’ Davis had been in the works for later in the year but Gervonta is instead linked with a rematch against Lamont Roach. A fight against Joshua, despite the British heavyweight’s recent losses, could still be bad news for Paul.
