John Isner and Sam Querrey disagree over which player is going to win the Queen’s title this week

The ATP Tour edition of the Queen’s Club Championships is now underway.

For the first time in over 50 years, the tournament hosted the WTA last week and the last woman standing was Germany’s Tatjana Maria.

The 37-year-old emerged a surprise winner after she defeated two Grand Slam champions on the way to the title.

Now the men will carry on the momentum from the WTA’s historic tournament at Queen’s, and the members of the Nothing Major podcast predicted who they think will lift the title.

Who do John Isner and Sam Querrey think will win Queen’s?

There are several players who have a strong chance of winning the Queen’s Club Championships.

The likes of Ben Shelton have the weapons and firepower to cause some significant problems on grass, and Denmark’s Holger Rune cannot be counted out.

But Sam Querrey of the Nothing Major podcast predicted Carlos Alcaraz to win the title for the second time. However, his compatriot John Isner had other ideas.

“You guys are going to hate me for this, I’m going for Taylor Fritz,” the former ATP’s World number eight said.

Isner tends to pick Fritz on many occasions but given Fritz lifted the Stuttgart Open on Sunday, he is carrying plenty of momentum into Queen’s and is hunting the title.

Carlos Alcaraz wins opening Queen’s match but Taylor Fritz is out

Fritz commenced Queen’s by taking on Corentin Moutet in his opening match.

The Frenchman came through qualifying where he defeated his compatriot Arthur Rinderknech to earn a spot in the main draw.

This was the first meeting between these two players and Fritz suffered a shock three-set defeat in his first match against Moutet.

Alcaraz on the other hand, took on Adam Walton, which is also their first meeting on the ATP Tour.

The World number two was tested by the Australian, but ultimately Alcaraz prevailed 6-4, 7-6(4) to keep his hopes of a second Queen’s title alive.
