Stefanos Tsitsipas recently faced USA’s Frances Tiafoe in the Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic in Hurlingham. The Greek tennis star defeated Tiafoe with a scoreline of 7-6(9), 6(4)-7,10-7 in this exhibition match. Taking a look at their head-to-head record on tour, both of them are currently level at 3-3.
After this exhibition match, when Tsitsipas was asked to reflect a bit on his serve and if he has been getting any advice from his new coach, Goran Ivanisevic, he remarked:
Today was a great day. Obviously, Frances is right. I’ve never seen myself serve this way, so I’d say it’s an improvement so far. I thank him (Goran) for it. For giving me the space and time to execute those (serves).. hope I can come up with those serves at Wimbledon.
Tsitsipas started working with Novak Djokovic’s ex-coach shortly after the 2025 Roland Garros, where he faced defeat at the hands of the World No. 134 in the second round. As someone who has coached Djokovic to three Wimbledon titles and won the title himself, it was pretty apt to start the grass swing under Ivanisevic’s guidance.
The first tournament Tsitsipas played with Ivanisevic as his coach was the Halle Open, where he lost in the Round of 16 to Alex Michelsen. The 26-year-old, who has clinched only one title on grass, is constantly looking for ways to improve his game. He has had a particularly disappointing season this year, apart from the Dubai Tennis Championships title, and will be looking to regain his form under his new coach.
Stefanos Tsitsipas practiced with Novak Djokovic ahead of Wimbledon
Novak Djokovic and his former coach Goran Ivanisevic shared a warm reunion Tuesday at Wimbledon. The Serbian, who previously coached under Ivanisevic for six years, was spotted on court practicing with Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Djokovic and Tsitsipas were among the stars hitting at Aorangi Park, continuing their preparation for the upcoming grass-court major. The 38-year-old Djokovic was coached by Ivanisevic from 2018 to 2024, working alongside Marian Vajda during the first four years of their partnership.
Tsitsipas, who was in the top 10 ranking in March, is now at World No. 26 and will be looking to regain his best form. Tsitsipas will aim to improve upon his career-best fourth-round appearance (2018, 2023) at Wimbledon, where last year he reached the second round.
Stefanos Tsitsipas and Novak Djokovic share a light-hearted moment on social media
Stefanos Tsitsipas delivered a playful jab to Novak Djokovic ahead of their joint practice, which has now become quite viral. In a humorous tweet shared by Tsitsipas, Djokovic teased the 26-year-old about opening a Greek tavern together.
Tsitsipas replied that they can do so when the Serb learns how to make tzatziki without using soy yogurt. The lighthearted moment offers a glimpse into their easy chemistry and sense of humor as both stars gear up for serious battles at the All England Club.
Djokovic will be looking to tie Roger Federer’s record of eight Wimbledon crowns. The 24-time Grand Slam champion boasts a 97-12 match record at SW19, where he last lifted the trophy in 2022. In the past two years Djokovic has fallen to Carlos Alcaraz in the championship match. Both Djokovic and Tsitsipas will learn their place in the draw during the draw ceremony, which will be held on Friday, 27 June, at 10 a.m. GMT.
