The alleged “hateful fan comments” happened during a heated season opener for Reese’s Chicago Sky.

They took on the Indiana Fever earlier this month and tempers boiled over.

Reese had an on-court incident with her rival Caitlin Clark.

The pair were separated by teammates before it blew up into a bigger incident.

The WNBA promised to investigate the claims made.

The league released a statement late Tuesday with the outcome.

And they said they were unable to verify the allegations which were made.

“The WNBA is committed to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for everyone and will continue to be vigilant in enforcing our fan code of conduct.”

Both the Fever and Sky released statements of their own straight after the league’s annoucement.

An Indiana Fever statement read, “We appreciate the swift and thorough process undertaken by the WNBA to investigate these allegations, which were not substantiated.

“At Gainbridge Fieldhouse, we are committed to providing the best possible basketball experience for players and fans where hate speech has absolutely no place.”

And Chicago Sky president Adam Fox made a public declaration on behalf of the WNBA team.

“We appreciate the quick action by the league and the Indiana Fever to take this matter seriously and to investigate,” Fox said.

“This process demonstrates the league’s strong stance on stopping hate at all WNBA games and events, and we will continue to support those efforts.”

The Sky faces the Fever again on June 7.
