CBS’ NEW YEAR’S EVE LIVE: NASHVILLE’S BIG BASH was a hit once again to ring in 2025, living up to Nashville’s Music City nickname.
Approximately 220,000 people came out to Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park for the event.
Keith Urban and Alana Springsteen
News 12 spoke to some who showed up as early as 9:30 a.m. Tuesday to get a spot right in front of the stage.
Plenty more were watching the five-hour CBS special on TV and online around the country.
Country music star Keith Urban kicked off the show, performing his song “Straight Line” off his latest album.
In addition to co-hosting with ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT’s Rachel Smith, Urban played for more than an hour.
Country artist Alana Springsteen told News 12 she was beyond excited to sing “Go Home With You” with Urban.
“We actually met for the first time at Summerfest earlier this year, and [Keith] pulled me up for a song, and we had the best time,” Alana said. “We’re also going on tour together in 2025, so I just cannot wait. There’s no better way to start out the year.”
In addition to being on tour with Keith Urban, Alana is also looking forward to releasing more new music in 2025.
“Just know it’s coming really really soon. I’ve been working so hard in the studio this year writing these songs, putting it together,” she said. “I’m really excited about this next chapter. I think a big goal for me is just to constantly break down those walls between me and my fans. I always want to just tell my authentic truth, and to make people feel more seen and a little bit less alone in what they’re going through. 2024 was such a beautiful year, but it also took me on quite the ride, and I learned a lot of lessons about myself. I learned how to be brave this year, and I’m taking that with me into 2025, and just want this album, this next batch of music to really really hit home for a lot of people, and I can’t wait to get it out in the world.”
Kane and Katelyn Brown
Next, singers Shaboozey and Brittney Spencer made appearances on the main stage.
Plenty more artists like Post Malone, Lainey Wilson, and Zach Top performed at other locations in downtown Nashville throughout the night.
This year, Tennessee Valley native Kane Brown got to play multiple songs as a headliner.
During a commercial break he interacted with the crowd, including some people up front from Soddy Daisy and Lakeview-Ft. Oglethorpe High School.
Kane’s wife, Katelyn, joined him on stage later for their new song, “Body Talk,” which will be on Kane’s latest album coming out January 24.
Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie Xo, introduced him as the last headliner to perform.
The country star left quite the impression on the Nashville crowd with them chanting, “Jelly! Jelly!” multiple times throughout the show.
If you missed the New Year’s Eve Bash Tuesday night, you can still stream it on Paramount+.
