What started as a standard GMA interview quickly turned into viral TV gold — and now, Trump’s press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, has a new nickname fans can’t stop laughing about.
During a recent appearance on Good Morning America, Leavitt went head-to-head with host Michael Strahan over President Trump’s order for federal employees to return to the office full-time. Strahan raised a concern many viewers shared: could mandating five-day office weeks cause a brain drain — losing doctors, scientists, and top-tier talent?
Leavitt didn’t flinch.
“Well,” she shot back, “most doctors who work in actual hospitals and medical institutions have to show up in the office.”
Boom. Mic drop.
Social media exploded.
Clips of the exchange racked up over 3 million views in hours, with fans dubbing Leavitt the “Grim Reaper” of fake news anchors
She just took another soul on live TV,” one fan wrote.
“Stone-cold killer. Will reach legend status,” said another.
And thus, a nickname was born: Karoline ‘The Grim Reaper’ Leavitt.
Back to Work — Fast
Just days earlier, Leavitt had returned to her post only three days after Trump survived an attempted assassination at a Pennsylvania rally. Asked why she came back so quickly, her answer was blunt:
“The president literally put his life on the line to win this election. The least I could do is get back to work.”
On Federal Workers: “Taxpayers Deserve Accountability”
As press secretary, Leavitt has stood firmly behind Trump’s directive to bring government workers back to D.C. offices. She pointed out that only 6% of federal employees in Washington are working full-time from the office — despite millions being spent on “beautiful but empty buildings.”
“The American taxpayers fund this government. They deserve representatives who actually show up.”
Leavitt also backed Trump’s buyout offer — letting employees resign with full pay and benefits through September if they don’t want to return.
The deadline? February 6.
Between her sharp comebacks and unflinching defense of policy, Karoline Leavitt is quickly becoming a media firestorm — and with a nickname like “The Grim Reaper”, it’s clear she’s made her mark.
