Riley Green and Ella Langley joined together for the television debut of their new duet, “Don’t Mind If Do,” during The Voice finale on NBC on Tuesday evening (Dec. 10).
Riley Green kicked off the acoustic performance seated alone on a stool on a stage resembling a giant whiskey barrel. The stage was illuminated by dimly lit candles and a sole spotlight shined down on the Alabama native as he delivered the first verse and chorus of the tender breakup ballad.
While plucking his guitar, Green sang, “I’ve been doin’ better, I hardly ever think of you lately/ It ain’t all sunshine/ When you cross my mind, I start missin’ you like crazy/ I try to numb the pain, but there ain’t no damn way/ I end up in that place and I’m just one whiskey away…”

Langley later entered the stage providing beautiful harmonies to Green’s Alabama-bred vocals
She took a seat on the stool next to him to deliver the final chorus of the song, offering the female-perspective of the song and an answer to Green’s heartbroken character in the song as she sings, “Well, I don’t mind if you do/ Drink a little too much and show up at my house/ Be nice to hear the truth/ Is it killin’ you not holdin’ me right now?/ If fallin’ into me is the only thing you think is gonna get you through/ Then I don’t mind if you do.”
Their performance earned a round of applause and cheers from the in-studio audience.
“When I was in the studio recording it, I just called her to come by to put a vocal on it so I could play it for whoever I was going to pitch it to as far as the female and she just crushed it. I remember sitting there and she was like in a sweatsuit. She came by from the house and sang it and it was just…I couldn’t imagine anybody doing it better than she did,” Green marveled.

He later added, “It was cool for her to be on the song. Also, having her out with all the success on the other song…so it’s kind of cool to have that accidentally work out.”
“Don’t Mind If I Do” appears as the title track of his recently released third studio album.
Green and Langley’s performance on The Voice happened to take place just days after “You Look Like You Love Me,” the pair’s other duet, topped the charts at U.S. country radio. The platinum-selling hit previously claimed the top spot on charts around the world, including Country radio charts in Canada, the UK and Australia.

The pair is fresh off their win for Musical Event of the Year at the CMA Awards last month, making both Green and Langley’s first-ever CMA Award win.
Next year, they will return to the road together on Green’s headlining Damn Country Music Tour.
