Benjamin Hall’s family is growing by one more!
The Fox News journalist, who sustained nearly fatal injuries while reporting on the Ukrainian war in Kyiv, and his wife Alicia have welcomed their fourth baby, daughter Sage Scarlett Jennifer Hall, a rep for the couple confirms to PEOPLE.
Baby Sage arrived on Friday, Sept. 6th, and weighed 5 lbs. 15 oz. at birth.
“Someone sage is someone who is calm and who is wise — I hope that our Sage will embody those,” Hall tells PEOPLE. “Someone who was sage was also a healer, and after all that’s happened over the last few years, that fits perfectly.”
“I think in general that we live in a world that is the opposite of sage — far too immediate, far too fast, where people don’t stop to think, learn and reflect, and I hope Sage and all our daughters will push back on that,” he continues.

The inspiration for Sage’s middle name came from two important women in her life. Scarlett is named after Alicia’s mother and Jennifer is after his mother.
“The other girls — Honor, Iris and Hero — are the best babysitters already, though there is already a battle over which one gets to hold her,” Hall shares. “Our dog Bosco is already throwing the ball to her, and waiting for her to play, and despite being a big dog, is incredibly gentle around her.”

“In that moment I first held Sage, I was reminded that nothing in the world matters as much as family. Nothing,” Hall says. “I hope we will teach her to be kind, considerate, inquisitive, and brave, and teach her to work hard and never give up.”
“I also feel that after what happened in Ukraine, after all the injuries, that Sage is a reminder that nothing can hold you back, and even if you’re knocked down, you can build it all back up, and build it back better, and stronger.”

In March 2023, Hall spoke with PEOPLE about his difficult road to recovery after sustaining injuries in Ukraine, which included losing a leg on one side and a foot on the other, as well as losing function of both a hand and an eye.
Hall traveled to Ukraine in late February 2022 to cover Russia’s unfolding invasion and the lives it was destroying. He knew the safety risks, but that was the nature of his career — “the only way you can really tell a good story is to be there,” he said.
He had been on assignment for little more than two weeks when, on March 14, 2022, he ventured out of Kyiv to get footage of a decimated town nearby. Heading back from the shoot after a successful day in the field, his vehicle was struck by a slew of Russian missiles.
Above all, Hall said he feels lucky. “You know, I look at my injuries and I don’t worry about them one bit, because I’m here with my family.”
