All of “Duck Dynasty” family patriarch Phil Robertson’s memories were stolen by Alzheimer’s in his final days, son Willie Robertson said.

Phil Robertson died May 25. He was 79. His life and legacy were celebrated Sunday during a premiere party for the new “Duck Dynasty: The Revival” in Monroe, La. His funeral was last week.

“Alzheimer’s is brutal,” Willie Roberston said in an interview with USA Today Network. “He told me, ‘I don’t have one single memory.’”

But Robertson said the family also shared treasured moments with Phil during the final months of his father’s life.

“Phil told my mom (known as ‘Miss Kay’ Robertson) that he loved her every time he saw her and I think he hugged me more in the last six months of his life than he did in all the years before that,” Willie Robertson said. “So there was also some sweetness.”

Willie’s wife Korie Robertson said Phil’s death just before the new show’s premiere “in some ways felt very surreal. But we believe (“Duck Dynasty: The Revival”) honors his legacy and the generations that have followed,” she said.

Willie Robertson said the family finds comfort through their Christian faith imparted by Phil, who often preached after he was baptized at 28 following a stormy early life and marriage to Miss Kay.

That story of redemption was recounted in the 2023 hit movie “The Blind” produced by Willie and Korie.

Willie talked about his father in a worship service before the “Duck Dynasty: The Revival” screening.

“When a parent passes aways you think about what they passed on to you,” he said. “I learned so much from him.

“I’m sad and I’m happy because he lived his life so much for the day he was going to leave.”

Willie said Phil’s deteriorating health prepared the family for his death.

“Because of how his final days were and his decline we knew he didn’t want to live like that, so we were ready and so was he,” Willie Robertson said.
