Todd Chrisley and his wife, Julie Chrisley, recently received a pardon that immediately vacated their prison stays. Now, Todd and Julie are home, where Todd is using their ever-growing platform and the press to speak out on their prison-filled pause, while adding in a few rather shocking claims to boot.
This Chrisley Knows Best alum recently held a press conference following their release. Together, he and his wife had a combined 19-year prison sentence that just ended after serving only two years. During this press conference, Todd admitted that he was unsure whether or not their celebrity status helped them receive their pardon. Either way, he and Julie are grateful, as, according to Todd, prison life is biased, and he is an innocent man.
Only the latter of these two claims feels shocking. But wait, there is more.
Todd Chrisley admits prison life was biased and “bad” yet filled with “blessings”
When Todd stepped up to the mic during his first press conference after his pardon, he thanked everyone who played a role in his release. Then, he admitted that “as bad as this experience has been, there’s also been a lot of blessings to come from it.” Next, Todd thankfully used his freedom for good by confirming a shocking claim that many minorities have experienced. Our prison systems treat prisoners with biases, he stressed.
“I have met some wonderful men. I have listened to some horrific stories about things that have gone on in our system. And whether you believe it or not, because I was you at some point,” people are still getting convicted of things they have not done, Todd explained.
Similarly, Todd “dealt with young African American males” in his prison who “were not treated the same” as him. Unlike Todd, these men “were denied programming” and “access to certain things,” and, as Todd quipped, “we all know why” they got denied and he did not. “We are one,” Todd added, regardless of our political party or race. Therefore, we as a society need to heed his experiences and do better within this system, he explained.

Todd and Julie formerly starred on their long-running reality television series, Chrisley Knows Best. However, as Todd shockingly revealed at his first press conference following their release, his family is soon returning to our screens via a brand new series. This show will detail their legal battles, says his daughter, Savannah Chrisley, while standing at his side. Their series will allow their fans an opportunity to “look into the trial and things that we went through, and we’re going to set the record straight,” Savannah expressed.
Cameras for their currently untitled show “started filming the night that we got home,” Todd interjected. Likewise, Savannah remarked that their cameras even captured her parents’ homecoming. “You will see the first time he and Mom see each other,” she declared.
Their new show will eventually air on the Lifetime network. This series will feature Savannah and Chase Chrisley, who serve as the executive producers. These two siblings created this reboot to help highlight their fight to get their parents out of jail. And as we all know, their efforts have since paid off in the form of a freed Todd and Julie.

And now comes our final shocking update given at his first press conference as a freed man. Todd is still maintaining his innocence. When a member of the free (for now) press asked Todd whether or not he felt any remorse for the actions that led to his incarceration, Todd sighed. Then, he softly tossed back his version of a sick burn, noting that this reporter “must be CNN.”
Still speaking to this reporter, Todd acknowledged that he would only carry feelings of remorse had he done something wrong. As Todd “did not do” anything wrong, this statement and question need not apply. Basically.
And that apology Julie gave last year? Does this not contradict what Todd is now saying? Todd says no. Overall, Julie felt like she had no other option, he said.
Julie was “placed in a position as a defendant to bow down and kiss the ass of the Department of Justice.” Those rings of justice are powerful. So Julie had no choice but to accept responsibility for things she “did not do.” All “to avoid a stronger sentence,” he explained.
As for “the corruption that went on in our case,” Todd ended, that “will continue to unfold.” And the “evidence that comes out” will shockingly further prove their innocence, he stressed. Until then, all we can do is wait for the release of their new series.
Chrisley Knows Best is now streaming on Peacock.
