ROBIN Roberts has revealed that she nearly broke up with her wife, Amber Laign, early on in their relationship.

The Good Morning America host admitted that she almost walked away from the romance, but Amber, 48, wasn’t giving in.

Robin, 63, opened up about her concerns on Tuesday’s episode of The Jamie Kern Lima Show.

“I have never talked about this before, but I’m going to talk about this with you,” the TV star began.

“I’d had dysfunctional relationships that I didn’t know were dysfunctional at the time.

“She had already told me, ‘I’m not going to do one of those makeup, break up things,’ so it’s about a year in… and [at that point] in my mind I was like, ‘I’m out of here,’ because there’s no drama.”

Robin continued, “I’m used to conflict and I was equating conflict with love. If it was easygoing, then it must not be sexy, it must not be fun. The relationship was really good but this was my thinking.”

‘I DIDN’T GO THROUGH WITH IT’

The TV personality then recalled Amber’s response to her reservations about moving forward with their romance.

“Robin, I know the relationship you had before. If that is what you want, knock yourself out,” the GMA anchor remembered.

“I was stunned. I thought she would be like, ‘You must stay with me,’ and she did just the opposite with such confidence [and said], ‘I know what you had, and I know what you have now, and if that’s what you want…’ and I didn’t go through with it.”

Robin confessed that she appreciated Amber’s tough love because it made her “unlearn” what she knew about being in a relationship.

“Why did I think that was love before? Why do I think now that it’s no drama and it’s easy… why do we look at that as not being sexy or not being a true relationship?” the broadcaster added.

“We never talk about unlearning. We always talk about learning.

“Sometimes you have to unlearn, and I had to. I shared this with friends in a similar situation, and they were like, ‘Wow, thank you.’”

“You have to really dig deep and go, ‘Is that what we think is love?’ No, but at the time, we do.” Robin ended.

The couple tied the knot in September 2023 after nearly two decades of dating.

Much of Robin’s GMA family attended their wedding in Farmingdale, Connecticut, including Al Roker, Lara Spencer, Dr. Jen Ashton, and Sam Champion.

“An intimate, magical wedding ceremony in our backyard followed by a joyous reception…ohhhh the dancing!! We are immensely grateful to all for making it a day and a night to remember,” Robin shared in an Instagram post with photos of the brides in their white gowns.

About a week later, Robin and Amber jetted off to Curaçao for their first honeymoon and another tropical location for round two.

In December 2023, Robin’s family threw a second wedding celebration in New Orleans, Louisiana, for those who couldn’t attend the first ceremony.

“We’re grateful to our family and dear friends for a spectacular and memorable weekend celebration of love. We had honeymoon #2 so why not wedding cake #2!” Robin gushed in another social media post about the big day.
