For us millennials, prom pictures remind us of cheesy poses, cringy outfits, and very low-res images. It’s nostalgic.
Benny Blanco certainly thought so too, when he treated fiancée Selena Gomez to a mall prom photo shoot complete with a blue textured background draping behind them and corny props.

While others were busy dancing to “Love You Like a Love Song” back in the mid 2000s, Gomez was busy singing it, so she didn’t get to go to prom, or really have a normal school experience.
To give her a little taste of the prom magic, Blanco threw a prom for him and Gomez for his birthday. He recently told Jennifer Hudson that he actually went to two proms in high school. “But then honestly my favorite prom was with my partner,” he said, inducing a collective “awww” from the audience.

On Instagram, Blanco shared various photos of the day, which including a limo ride and the signature teen movie moment of Gomez walking down the stairs to show off her look.
The pop star wore a poofy purple strapless gown with a high-low skirt. In a very high school move, she styled the gown with sheer black tights, black leather ankle boots (I mean, you have to be able to dance), and a black choker. Over it, she wore a cropped black fur jacket.
Blanco went for a classic tux and loafers with a heart on them.

One of many poses from Selena and Benny.
“It was more fun than either of us expected it to be…” Blanco wrote over a video of them posing for cute and silly shots during the photo session. They even opted for the pedestal prop, which we know was a premium package add-on.

We hope they got Auntie Anne’s after, because you might as well while you’re there.
