America Stunned as “Special Government Employee” Elon Musk Abruptly Exits Washington—After Slashing 260,000 Jobs, Shutting Down Major Agencies, and Clashing with Lawmakers, the Billionaire’s Explosive 130-Day Reform Crusade Ends in Controversy, Protest, and a Nation in Mourning

Americans mourn the passing of “special government employee” Elon Musk

“Special government employee” – billionaire Elon Musk – has left US politics after completing his 130-day term, much to the regret of Americans who supported his reform initiatives.

Elon Musk ’s role as senior advisor  lasted only four months, but he showed many efforts in reforming and streamlining the apparatus as well as cutting public spending. Before officially confirming Elon Musk’s departure from politics, the administration of US President Donald Trump repeatedly hinted that the world’s richest billionaire would soon return to focus on business.

According to regulations, billionaire Elon Musk is only allowed to work for a maximum of 130 days as a “special government employee”, however, if he switches to part-time work, his service time can be extended by many months.

Although billionaire Elon Musk will no longer continue his work in office, his reform efforts at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which is responsible for reviewing public spending, will continue.

The billionaire, known for his many bold initiatives, is considered to have “done his job well” in a context where cutting government spending is not an easy task.

Because of this, billionaire Elon Musk cannot avoid conflicts with cabinet ministers. Many sources say that he not only conflicts with cabinet ministers but also faces opposition from lawmakers. These people are concerned that the cuts will affect local jobs and services. He also faces a wave of protests from federal employees, especially after the decision to dissolve a number of large agencies, including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

Billionaire Elon Musk, the biggest donor to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, has been appointed by the White House to lead DOGE, in a bid to reform the government and save money. According to Reuters, DOGE has managed to cut nearly 12% of the government, equivalent to 260,000 civil servants and government employees, mostly by offering early retirement or warning of layoffs.
