Dan Reynolds Gets Sweet Birthday Tribute From Girlfriend Minka Kelly: ‘Healed Wounds in Me’

Minka Kelly gave her boyfriend, Dan Reynolds, a cute birthday shout-out on social media.

“This beautiful man has healed wounds in me he did not inflict — simply by being himself,” Kelly, 45, wrote via Instagram on Monday, July 14, alongside a selfie of her and Reynolds, 38. “By embodying true masculinity. The love that is vulnerable, honest and loving.”

Kelly, who started dating the Imagine Dragons singer in 2022, went on to say that she thought she knew the meaning of “kindness, love, patience, generosity, care” and “how to be gentle” — until she met Reynolds.

“Watching him father and love his babies,” Kelly gushed about her boyfriend, who shares four children with ex-wife Aja Volkman. “Honoring and respecting their beautiful mother. Doing everything he can to be absolutely everything everyone needs from him.”

The Ransom Canyon actress noted that Reynolds finds “ways every day to light up the lives of the ones so lucky enough to be loved by him.”

“His benevolence, his priorities, his values, and his honesty are all rooted in love,” she said in her tribute. “And as a result, we all feel safe and at ease in his orbit. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for blessing my life in ways I never thought possible — but always dreamed of.”

Kelly concluded her message by telling the singer that she loves him.

“I love you, Dan. Happiest birthday to you,” she shared. “Now let’s dance!”

Kelly and Reynolds began talking to each other on the phone after being introduced by a mutual friend in 2022. The pair agreed to exchange each other’s work as Kelly was working on her Tell Me Everything memoir and Reynolds was preparing music for his band’s Loom album.

“I think it helped us both kind of understand each other on a deeper level quickly,” Reynolds told People in July 2024. “It was a really strange and awesome way to meet someone because I was hearing all her life stories from youth to now, and she had a really hard, colorful, beautiful life. Getting to read it all before you even meet somebody … I’ve never had that kind of introduction to someone.”

Nearly a year later, a source told Us Weekly that Kelly and Reynolds are “so in love.”

“Things are going amazing for them both,” an insider explained to Us in June 2023, adding their relationship “started out slowly” and had “gotten much more serious” over the prior couple of months despite Reynolds’ “busy” touring schedule. “He and Minka spend as much of their free time together as possible. When they can’t be together, oftentimes they’re texting, FaceTiming and calling each other.”

More recently, Kelly opened up about how Reynolds helped her prepare for her role in Ransom Canyon by teaching her piano — and even making a surprise cameo in the Netflix series.

“He helped me a lot,” she said on an episode of Today with Jenna & Friends in April. “Because at home he’d help me translate — I can’t read music — so he would show me how it’s done.”
