Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s legal battle is taking new turns every day. The two former co-stars have reportedly been feuding since their time on the sets of It Ends With Us.

However, things took a turn for the worse after Lively filed a s*xual harassment lawsuit against Baldoni in December. Interestingly, other big names from the industry have been dragged into the drama recently.

For example, a leaked audio of Ari Emanuel has been making the rounds for the past few days, where he explained his reasoning for siding with Blake Lively and Reynolds. But how does his involvement really impact the case? A lawyer gives his input.

Does Ari Emanuel’s leaked audio impact Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds?

Ari Emanuel appeared on a live event for the Freakonomics podcast in February. During the interview, he gave his input about the whole Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively legal battle in light of him firing the It Ends With Us director from his WME Agency.

As per The Wrap, he went on to say that his decision was made purely out of his friendship with Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds as he has known them for a long time. Moreover, he isn’t sure if what they are alleging is indeed true, but if it is, then “they’re really bad people”.

He also mocked the director’s name, referring to him as “Justin Bologna” probably in an attempt to come off as humorous. Now, what’s interesting about it is that the Freakonomics hosts claimed that due to some technical issues, the live episode never got recorded.

Hence, they would not be able to release it on their channel for a wider audience. In a strange twist of fate, though, the audio from that event where Ari Emanuel gave his two cents got leaked on social media recently (Colonel Kurtz). It would be safe to say that people are not exactly happy about it.

In light of that, Popcorned Planet host Andy Signore invited lawyer Greg Doll for an interview on his channel to understand the legal ramifications Emanuel’s controversial audio clip can have on the Justin Baldoni-Blake Lively case.

According to the lawyer, this might work in favor of the Jane the Virgin star, since his countersuit against the Green Lantern leads alleged that they were responsible for WME dropping him as a client.

What you’re trying to prove in a defamation case is that you actually suffered damages related to whatever you’re defamed about, or whatever was mistruth about you. And sometimes that’s a hard nexus to prove. It’s gonna be a hard nexus for Lively to prove that her skincare line tanked because of the negative publicity…But I think what we are seeing now with this quote is that WME absolutely got rid of him because of these things that were said so now he has got a clear line to get damage support.

Although the agency refuted the claims at first, this audio clip of owner Ari Emanuel seems to have cemented Baldoni’s point.

In fact, the host and the lawyer both believe that the Endeavor owner might have influenced the Freakonomics hosts to bin the episode altogether after realizing how this could impact Lively and Reynolds negatively.

Lawyer thinks Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni should settle their case

The host and the lawyer further discussed whether the recently leaked audio would help Justin Baldoni’s case even more than the initial reports from journalists on Ari Emanuel’s controversial statements.

According to Greg Doll, while the news articles would be enough “under the law,” however, in the real world, the audio holds more weightage.

This is a damning quote, and it really shows…I mean, this dispute, these words that were said by Lively’s side, had a clear, immediate, negative impact on Baldoni’s career.

The lawyer further claimed that this case has now become so personal, even with the constant media circus around it, that it might never reach a definitive conclusion at all. Especially as he believes there will be more details emerging about it that would only enrage the masses more.

In fact, he seems to believe that the best outcome for Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and Justin Baldoni would be to “reach an agreement and walk away” from the case at this point before either parties suffer more public scrutiny and humiliation as the March 2026 trial date draws nearer.
