Luisana’s elder sister, a renowned nutritionist who also acts in her spare time, made the revelations as she admitted the entire family was “broken in half” by the earth-shattering diagnosis.
Buble’s wife Luisana Lopilato previously told of her frustration at watching Noah suffer with burns.
The Canadian crooner and Argentinian actress Luisana revealed their son’s plight in a statement on Friday after speculation he was ill with mumps.
They explained Noah is undergoing treatment in the US but did not give details about his cancer.
A source close to the family told US Weekly: “They are really sad but hopeful. They immediately got him very good care and they are hoping and praying for the best.
“They are getting him the best doctors around. It’s really heartbreaking. This was a real shock, but they are doing everything they can.
“They’re staying positive and Noah is a fighter.”
The family were dealt the tragic blow after the youngster visited doctors with a suspected case of mumps, Argentinian website La Nacion reports.
Argentinian journalist Tomas Dente read out a text message from Daniela on a morning TV show which said: “To tell you the truth I’m devastated. This is very recent.
“The only thing I ask is that you don’t speculate because not everyone has children and can understand what this means.

“Michael and my sister will publish more statements and I can’t say anymore. “But it’s not leukaemia or the central nervous system as people are saying. It’s all I can say.”
Michael, 41, and his wife of five years – parents to Noah and nine-month Elias, made their announcement about their eldest son on the singer’s Facebook page.
They said: “We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the US.
“We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children.
“Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping.
Noah get well.
Asking for peoples’ prayers, the statement added: “We have a long journey in front of us and hope that with the support of family, friends and fans around the world, we will win this battle, God willing.”

Michael has sold more than 55 albums worldwide and is due to host the Brit Awards in February.
In a recent interview he said of his kids: “I love them more than I’ll ever love anything, or anyone in the whole universe.
The only regret I have is that I took this long to have kids because I had no idea the perspective it would give me.”
Noah was admitted to hospital after pouring hot water on himself in a domestic accident in June last year at the couple’s home in Argentina.
Revealing the seriousness of the incident in her first interview two months after it happened, Luisana said: “I have to dress his wounds and he suffers because it hurts and he complains.
“I often ask myself why this happened but it was inevitable.
“He climbed onto the kitchen worktop in a second and threw hot water over himself.

“At one point the doctors told me they’d have to do skin grafts but thanks God it’s healing little by little.”
She also revealed that after his accident, the youngster was on the same floor as children with terminal illnesses.
She told an Argentinian magazine: “I would ask myself, ‘How are their parents able to get up every day and breathe?
“I try not to think of that. I believe that in those moments you find the strength from somewhere.”
Meanwhile heart warming footage of Michael Bublé performing a duet with his son Noah has re-emerged following the devastating diagnosis.
Canadian crooner Michael, 41, was singing onstage at a New Year’s Eve party last December, when he plucked his son from the crowd to join in a rendition of his hit Nobody But Me.

Noah’s heartbreaking illness news comes just a day after Michael Bublé at the BBC was watched by millions across the UK.
During the show, the singer told host Claudia Winkleman he “just didn’t know that level of love existed” when asked about his sons.
He said: “I just love them so much that part of loving them so much is not giving them everything they want and that is a tough thing for me.”

Michael and Luisana have another son, Elias, who is 10 months old.
The family split their time between Luisana’s native Buenos Aires, Argentina and Buble’s home in West Vancouver, Canada.
The crooner recently admitted his life changed after having kids with his Argentinian wife while on Desert Island Discs.
He described his boys as a “Petri dish of germs” and says his family stopped him being “reckless with hearts”.
In another interview with Entertainment Tonight last month he said “it’s hard to quantify the level of love” he has for his sons.
Luisana recently admitted she and her husband are “a little weird about our kids”.
She told PageSix.com: “We love to be with our kids a lot. When we are out for one hour, we miss them.”
Luisana added that she and Buble do not work at the same time, and that she goes everywhere with her children.
The news about Noah came the same day Jean-Christophe Novelli revealed his eight-week-old son had also been diagnosed with cancer.
The 55-year-old celebrity chef found a lump on the newborn’s neck just weeks after welcoming him in September with his fiancee Michelle Kennedy, 40.
