Whipped Cream Disaster! Blake Lively’s Vogue Pie Tutorial Spirals Out of Control—Explosive Butter Fight, Mystery Measurements, and a Bourbon-Soaked Lemonade Cocktail Leave Crew Speechless. Fans Say This Is the Most Chaotic and Entertaining Vogue Kitchen Takeover in History.
Inside Blake Lively’s Vogue Kitchen Takeover: Key Lime Chaos, Lemonade Confessions, and Behind-the-Scenes of “It Ends With Us”
Blake Lively greets us not from her actual home kitchen, but a pristine Vogue set that quickly descends into flour-dusted, butter-smeared chaos. Wearing a casual gown and an expression of caffeinated determination, the September cover star attempts to whip up her mom’s iconic key lime pie—a recipe that, she admits, may just be a lemon icebox pie in disguise.
“I need coffee. I got four kids,” she says, cradling an unbranded mug like a lifeline. “It took me until one in the afternoon to make a key lime pie and a gown without a secret coffee hidden here. You guys are nuts.”
With a food processor she clearly has never met and an ongoing feud with unsalted butter (“I don’t mess with unsalted butter,” she declares), Lively launches into her baking adventure. Graham crackers and macadamia nuts are ground in vague proportions. “This is not a tablespoon, I’m lying to you guys,” she admits while pouring what looks like half a cup of chopped nuts into a bowl.
This isn’t a carefully curated influencer tutorial—it’s Blake Lively in full, unscripted form. Her charm is chaotic, her directions imprecise, but her joy is unmistakable. She’s cooking for the love of it, and it shows.
“This is my mom’s recipe, sort of,” she says with a grin. “When I got it from her, I realized it was really just a lemon icebox pie with some lime added in. But it’s divine.”
As she whips up the crust—graham crackers, macadamia nuts, butter, and a very unmeasured pinch of sea salt—Blake reflects on how central food has always been to her life. “Food and family are completely intertwined,” she says. “I associate food with love because of my mom. She’s an amazing cook.”
Once the crust is golden and cooling, Blake moves on to her filling: a decadent blend of sweetened condensed milk, heavy whipping cream, sour cream, Jello vanilla pudding, Grand Marnier, and yes, more lemon and lime. “You’re gonna have three levels of this pie,” she explains. “Most potent to least potent. Like life.”
Midway through zesting a lemon the size of a softball, she laughs. “I feel like this is gonna end up on OnlyFans. Me leaning over, chest falling out, squeezing this lemon… This is not suitable for work.”
Despite the antics, there are moments of real reflection—particularly when she talks about her new film, It Ends With Us, the adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel. “It was the most all-consuming film I’ve ever been a part of—on camera and off. It’s deeply personal,” she says. “It means so much to so many people, and I didn’t take that responsibility lightly.”
Wardrobe played a major role in embodying her character, and Blake pulled inspiration from both her husband Ryan Reynolds and her close friend Gigi Hadid. “It’s an odd mashup, I know,” she says, laughing. “But I loved how expressive and eclectic the wardrobe was. Some of my favorite looks I’ve ever worn in a film.”
As her pie chills, Blake turns to making lemonade—well, a base that doubles as a cocktail or mocktail, depending on your vibe. “We’re a household of different ages and preferences,” she says, squeezing lemons, Meyer lemons, and a splash of orange. Her secret ingredients? Bourbon, vanilla extract, butter extract, and bourbon-smoked sugar. “You can mess it up, but you can adapt,” she insists, after accidentally adding too much bourbon.
Then, with a twinkle in her eye: “That was too much alcohol. We’re gonna cheat and dilute it. Nobody has to know.”
Between scenes of whipped cream disasters and heartfelt musings, Blake drops another bombshell: she just wrapped filming the sequel to A Simple Favor—this time shot in Capri and Rome. “I really questioned every life choice I’ve ever made while I was there,” she jokes. “Do I live here now? Do I blow up my whole life and move to Capri?”
Returning to the pie, she layers the filling with care—starting with the most potent citrus base, folding in whipped cream, then topping it all with what her mom calls “the S’s,” creating elegant swirls on top. She garnishes it with lime twists and a lovingly crafted heart cutout—her final touch before freezing it.
As she digs in the next day to the frozen final product, she reflects: “It’s actually not that different from how I cook in real life. It’s all about the layering—for flavor and for love.”
For Blake, love is the through-line. It’s in the pie she learned from her mom. It’s in the lemonade she makes for her kids. It’s in the wardrobe inspired by people she admires, and in the care she put into It Ends With Us.
“I put a lot of love and care into everything I do,” she says, genuinely. “And I’m really excited for people to try it.”
As she clinks glasses with her crew, handing off drinks and offering slices, Blake Lively isn’t just a Vogue cover star or Hollywood powerhouse. She’s a mother, a storyteller, and the kind of woman who can make even a chaotic key lime pie feel like a heartfelt gift.
“Good luck trying this at home,” she laughs. “No, really—at me if you can pull this thing off.”
With whipped cream in her hair, pie on her plate, and the afterglow of a deeply personal film project behind her, Blake Lively is somehow both a glam goddess and your funniest, most chaotic friend in the kitchen. And that’s exactly why we can’t get enough of her.
Cheers to the chaos. And pass the pie.
