Insider revealed the real reason why Janet Jackson wants Michael Jackson’s biopic to be released as soon as possible

Janet Jackson reportedly wants a film dedicated to her career trajectory.

However, the songbird has been holding the idea as the biopic of her late father, Michael Jackson, is yet to be released, per In Touch.

As fans will be aware, the upcoming film, titled Michael, is being helmed by Antoine Fuqua.

The movie is reportedly in works with the full permission of his estate, detailing the real life events of the King of Pop “from his childhood of being the star of the Jackson 5, through times of abuse by his father Joe Jackson, to his hit ‘Thriller,’ and the purchase of Neverland Valley, into his tragic and unsuspected death on June 25, 2009,” per the movie synopsis.

A source spilled the beans on the matter and revealed that Janet Jackson has been postponing any plans for her own career retrospective

“Janet is holding off on any career retrospective project of her own for the time being out of respect for the rest of her family,” the insider dished.

They went on to add, this is “including her niece and nephews, who control Michael Jackson’s estate and her nephew, Jaafar [Jackson], who is starring in the Michael Jackson biopic.”

“The effort everybody in the extended family has put into getting [the biopic] Michael off the ground — It’s truly been a group effort,” the spy confided and concluded by stating, “It’s easily the most anticipated film of the recent musical biopic trend.”
