Michael Jackson’s Live at Wembley concert, recorded on July 16, 1988, was released as a DVD on September 18, 2012, as part of the Bad 25 reissue. This performance, part of the Bad World Tour (1987–1989), was the third stop from Jackson’s tours to be released on home video, following Live in Bucharest and HIStory World Tour: Live in Seoul.
Held at The Wembley Stadium in London, the concert drew a sold-out crowd of 72,000, including Diana, Princess of Wales, and Prince Charles. Because of the royal family’s presence, Jackson had initially planned to skip “Dirty Diana”. However, Princess Diana later revealed that it was her favorite song. Jackson admitted that it was too late to add it back to the setlist.

The Wembley concert was a stunning mix of lights, great sound, and cool special effects. Screens were placed on either side of the stage so that everyone in the crowd was fully involved. Jackson’s commanding presence took over the stage as soon as the performance began. The stadium was filled with an excited audience. Jackson’s every move was closely watched by the audience. Every step Jackson took sent waves of excitement throughout the audience.
The concert was a huge success as most of Jackson’s concerts were back in those days. This concert specifically received a lot of positive reviews because of Jackson’s energy and captivating stage presence.
