Where there’s fashion, there’s Venus Williams, stunning everyone with her iconic style. At the Met Gala on May 5, she turned heads in a custom Lacoste outfit- a deep emerald green polo shirt with a high-low hemline creating a miniskirt effect in front and dramatically extending in the back. She paired it with a matching long cape and green platform shoes. Delicate jeweled pieces sparkled in her hair, adding extra bling. Lacoste really knows what they’re doing when dressing Venus, right? Now, in their latest photoshoot, even her half-sister, Isha Price, is gobsmacked!
After dazzling at the Met Gala, Venus kept the spotlight by joining other tennis legends in Lacoste’s new campaign, “Play With Icons.” The campaign cleverly plays on her iconic first name, referencing Botticelli’s famous The Birth of Venus. Photographer Tyler Mitchell captured Venus mid-step, stepping out of a pleated skirt designed to resemble the scallop shell from the painting, perfectly blending art and sport.
Her flowing hair and confident pose channel the goddess vibe effortlessly. They posted the look on social media with the caption, “No one does it better than the icon herself. @venuswilliams celebrates Lacoste’s technical mastery of the pleat by becoming a living work of art, redifining grace, power and invention. #PlayWithIcons.” Her half-sister Isha shared the photo on Instagram with three fire emojis, showing her excitement.
Price, the half-sister of tennis legends Serena and Venus Williams, is a lawyer and producer who plays a key role behind the scenes in their careers. She often provides legal counsel and manages various professional aspects for the sisters. Though she keeps a relatively private life, Isha has contributed significantly to family projects, including serving as an executive producer for the acclaimed film King Richard, which tells the inspiring story of the Williams family’s rise to fame.
While the rest of the Williams family tends to stay out of the spotlight, the bond between the sisters is unmistakably strong. In March, on International Women’s Day, Isha showed her love and support by commenting on a heartfelt Instagram post celebrating Serena and Venus. The fan page praised the sisters as “extraordinary, beautiful, diligent, influential, brilliant, and genuine,” highlighting how they’ve broken barriers and inspired millions. Isha’s simple but touching reply was: “.”
This moment perfectly captures the warmth and admiration that flows within the family. It’s clear that behind the global tennis icons, there’s a foundation of unwavering love and support, with Isha standing proudly alongside her famous sisters every step of the way.
But coming to Venus’ Lacoste look, she’s quite pleased with how they’ve brought out her tennis journey over the years through fashion.
The genius behind Venus Williams’ stunning Met Gala look was Lacoste’s creative director, Pelagia Kolotouros, who walked the red carpet right alongside her. Just days after the event, on May 9, Venus shared a behind-the-scenes Instagram moment with Pelagia, captioning it, “The past meets the present Thank you @pelagia.kolotouros for your beautiful vision!” The vibe was pure magic.
Curious about the hair inspiration, Venus asked Pelagia, who explained, “Honestly came from you! I looked at some old pictures of you with cornrows and beads and thought, ‘How can I make that fit this theme?’ Then I thought, ‘For the whole crocodile thing, let’s extract that skin texture and put it into little clips.’” Hairstylist Araxi Lindsey worked her magic with a crisscross pattern that laid Venus’s hair flat, blending traditional African styles with 1920s short cuts. Dozens of metal clips nodded to Venus’s iconic beaded hairstyle from the 2000s.
Even Serena Williams couldn’t get enough of her sister’s look! Underneath her post from the night, Serena left a heartwarming comment. She wrote, “Wow love these poses and this lewk.” It’s only natural after seeing her dazzle with seven grand slam titles and unforgettable style on and off the court
Speaking of on-court, after a break following her first-round loss at the 2024 Miami Open, Venus is coming back in the spotlight! But in a fresh role- as a TNT Sports commentator for the 2025 French Open. With Roland Garros just around the corner, it’s thrilling to see Venus shine in a whole new way. What do you think?
