Exclusive: Backstage Details On The Rock And Cody Rhodes’ Segment At WWE Elimination Chamber

The fallout from WWE Elimination Chamber continues, and we here at Bodyslam.net have some exclusive details about the shocking conclusion to the show.

One of the biggest talking points potentially in decades coming out of the event was the confrontation between The Rock and Cody Rhodes, which had fans buzzing long before John Cena made his unexpected heel turn. But according to our sources, the segment listed as part of the Elimination Chamber rundown—was a deliberate misdirection to keep everyone in the dark about the show’s shocking ending.

According to CodyWhoades in the Bodyslam x PWN Discord, we at Bodyslam have been told that no one outside the ring except Triple H knew about Cena’s turn until it happened. WWE kept the finish a closely guarded secret, and that Rock video package in the middle of the show – That wasn’t just a normal production element—it was put in the rundown to specifically to throw everyone off.

The Rock forming a new faction involving John Cena for a major purpose is possible, says WWE veteran

“The Rock segment was written into the rundown to throw off the close of the show happening,” a source told Bodyslam.net exclusively.

This lines up with WWE’s increasing efforts to keep major moments under wraps, ensuring maximum impact for their biggest storylines. By strategically placing The Rock’s segment earlier in the night, the company was able to maintain an air of unpredictability, making Cena’s eventual turn even more shocking.

With WrestleMania season in full swing, this latest twist raises even more questions about where things are headed. Will The Rock’s influence continue to shape the main event? How does Cena fit into all of this? And most importantly—what does this mean for Cody Rhodes’ road to the main event?

CM Punk Unloads On ‘Frauds’ John Cena, The Rock Before Brawling With Seth Rollins On WWE Raw

CM Punk stormed his way to the ring to open Monday’s edition of WWE Raw in Buffalo. The former WWE Champion grabbed a microphone, stood atop the commentary desk and aired his grievances over everything that went down at the Elimination Chamber premium live event. Punk had his dreams of finally main eventing a WrestleMania crushed during the show, as Seth Rollins nailed him with a Curb Stomp despite having been eliminated from the Chamber match, giving John Cena the opening to lock in his STF submission and cause Punk to pass out for the win.

Rollins could be heard loudly screaming “Die!” at Punk as he watched Cena choke him out. Punk wasted no time addressing Cena’s monumental heel turn and alliance with The Rock before threatening to put Rollins in a wheelchair.

Punk stared off his rant by calling Rock a “bald fraud.” He pointed out how he came back and “crawled through literal hell” to get opportunities like fighting for a spot in the WrestleMania 41 main event whereas Rock only appears on WWE programming when he feels like it simply because he believes he’s a bigger star than rest of the roster.

“I would love to say all this to your face,” Punk said. “But you have not graced us with your presence to do your bulls—. To hit your arm (imitating The Rock’s goosebumps pose), to pretend you care about this business that give you goosebumps. I have never been so delusional, I have never been so desperate to wear a fake title… and proclaim myself ‘The People’s Champion.’ Because I don’t deserve it, I earn it. I’ve never been so desperate to sell my soul.”

Punk then turned his attention to Cena, saying he “stole” the win on Saturday after Punk gave him the benefit of the doubt for not needing to qualify for the Men’s Chamber match. He said Cena gave up on himself, his fans, and all the kids around the world who have supported him for 20 years.

“The joke is on you,” Punk said. “I’m going to see you down the road. And I’m going to get my hands on both of you bald frauds. And when I do, you’re going to make a wish that I never did.”

Punk then turned his attention to Rollins, who he mockingly referred to as “Little Brother.” He warned Becky Lynch to come back and collect Rollins, or Punk would put him in a wheelchair. Rollins’ music then hit to cut Punk off, leading to a brawl between the two that started on the entrance ramp and eventually spilled in and out of the ring. It took WWE Raw general manager Adam Pearce and a team of security guards numerous times before the two could finally be separated.

John Cena Holding The Undisputed WWE Championship

After the amazing turn of events at Elimination Chamber, John Cena will undoubtedly win the WWE title at WrestleMania.

Rollins vs. Punk vs. Roman Reigns has been heavily rumored as a planned WrestleMania 41 match and the past three days have supported that rumor. Reigns still hasn’t been present on WWE TV since Rollins gave him a Curb Stomp on a set of steel steps at the Royal Rumble, but there’s still plenty of time for “The Tribal Chief” to get involved.

Rollins and Punk were both escorted out of the arena later on in the evening, only to continue brawling once they spotted each other. Peace once again led security in breaking the two up and personally guided Rollins to his tour bus.

Rollins said he was making things “easy” for Pearce to just book a rematch between the two, and that if Pearce didn’t, “The Visionary” would do what he did to Reigns and ensure Punk won’t be able to compete at WrestleMania. Pearce obliged, announcing Rollins vs. Punk in a Steel Cage Match for the March 10 episode of WWE Raw at Madison Square Garden in New York City. This will mark the first time a Steel Cage Match has taken place since WWE Raw moved to Netflix.
