“It’s about listening, not just having titles on certain things or thinking ‘oh, I’ve got it,’” he added. “It’s like working for it, working hard for it, it’s a completely different thing, it’s an achievement.”

Paris was only 11 years old when her father passed away.

On June 25, 2009, “The King of Pop” suffered a cardiac arrest at his home and died shortly after being taken to a nearby hospital. Paris and her siblings were placed under the legal care of their grandmother, Katherine Jackson, according to Michael’s will.

During her father’s televised funeral, 11-year-old Paris stood up in front of the entire world to say a few words about her father.

“Since I was born, Dad has been the best father you could ever imagine,” she said. “And I just wanted to say that I love him so much.”

Paris and her brothers, Prince Michael, 12, and Prince Michael II, 7, were present during the televised funeral. In fact, it was practically the first time the world got more than a glimpse of Jackson’s children.

In January 2010, they were seen in public again when they accepted a posthumous lifetime achievement award for their father at the 2010 Grammy Awards.
