Cowboys Legend Gambles on Terence Crawford vs. Canelo Alvarez With 6-Figure Bet

With each passing day, we are getting closer to the promised land and no one can keep their calm. Every sign shows that the potential clash between Terence Crawford and Canelo Alvarez might be finally happening.

The duo had a meeting together with His Excellency Turki Alalshikh in London at the same time, further bolstering the rumors.

Renowned boxing journalist Julius Julianis later revealed another positive update, claiming that they are considering a September date for the fight.

While nothing is officially confirmed, fans and experts have already started speculating and picking their winners.

Amid this, the Dallas Cowboys legend Dez Bryant also jumped into the mix, revealing his intentions of betting an astronomical amount on the fight and choosing his winner.

The Black Mamba took to his ‘X’ to choose his winner of the potential clash. He did it in his own style and wrote, “I’m putting 100k on Crawford!” showing unwavering support for the 37-year-old.

Bryant and Crawford share a personal relationship and the NFL legend admires ‘Bud’ a lot. He has publicly shown support to the Omaha native a few times and the duo even has shared some wholesome moments together.

They have engaged in friendly competitions, just like their one-on-one basketball game, where Crawford lost to the football star.

So it was not a surprise that Bryant chose ‘Bud’ as his winner against Canelo Alvarez. However, this choice has put him in a unique bracket, as Canelo is turning out to be a heavy favorite amongst the experts.

Canelo Alvarez: The heavy favorite

As expected, the fight has taken notice of every boxing fan and even the personalities. Matchroom honcho Eddie Hearn especially is looking forward to this fight.

In a conversation with FightHype, Hearn expressed his excitement for the clash and picked Canelo as his winner. He declared, “Crawford can’t really come to fight—in that fight because he’s at a massive, massive size disadvantage.” referring to the 14lbs gap that the duo shares.

Hearn is not the only one who thinks that the weight limit will be too much for ‘Bud’ to overcome. Demetrius Andrade expressed the same concerns to FightHubTV.

He claimed that even though the 41-0 boxer is his dear friend, “when it comes to weight, empowerment, that s–t is real. Canelo is a big bad wolf…

I think Crawford has the skills, but when it comes to Saul getting shots and blocking his power shots, Canelo knows how to move, too,” and termed it as a losing battle for Crawford.

The WBC interim light heavyweight and super middleweight champion David Benavidez also thinks Canelo Alvarez is the favorite.

Benavidez moved to 175 after Canelo refused to face him even when he was the top contender. However, the Monster Bandera Roja still holds the 62-2-2 boxer in high regard and admires his skill and power. Something that will be too much for Terence Crawford.

“Crawford is a one-of-a-kind fighter, but weight classes must be respected. I’d give Canelo the edge,” claimed Benavidez.
