Cardi B has recalled the US Secret Service giving her a “hard time” at the Super Bowl, and mentioned that her uncle has been deported.
The rapper made the comments last Sunday night (February 9), following the game between NFL teams the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. The massive sporting event was held at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, where the Eagles would ultimately take the win, securing a 40-22 victory.
However, speaking on an Instagram livestream after the event, the rapper expressed her frustration after the night and recalled an inconvenience caused by the Secret Service.
The service was there as President Donald Trump was also in attendance on the night, meaning that security measures were massively heightened at the venue.
“Yo, I was too fucking mad today because, you know, Donald Trump and shit,” Cardi began. “He was at the Super Bowl today, and they was giving us a hard time. Oh my gosh. The Secret Service was not playing at that motherfucker. The Secret Service was not playing to get in that motherfuckin’ stadium.”
Although she did not explicitly say what issues were caused by the Secret Service’s presence, the rapper did go on to say that it “fucked up” one of her heels.
“This shoe cost me three bands… All ‘cause of Trump. Now I like him lesser,” she told viewers before adding that she had a family member deported. “Now I like him lesser because you didn’t have to go to no damn Super Bowl. Fucking up my shoe.
“Now he’s gonna have to – well, he definitely ain’t going to do that – bring my uncle back… because my uncle got deported.”
At the time of writing, Cardi has shared no further details on why there was such commotion at the LIX Super Bowl, including how she was given a “hard time” from security, nor has she said when or why her uncle was deported.
The comments about her relative do, however, come following reports that, since Trump took office last month, the presidential administration has acted swiftly on immigration in the country. It was recently shared that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported a record 956 people arrested on January 26 alone.
Following the news, Selena Gomez held back tears as she posted a video on Instagram, saying: “I’m so sorry, I wish I could do something but I can’t. I don’t know what to do, I’ll try everything I promise”.
Flavor Flav later showed support for the actor, stating: “Team Selena Gomez. Again. That woman is always so brave to share her truth… and so many are quick to bully her.”
As for the Super Bowl, the President received a mixed review from fans at the event, as did Taylor Swift – who went viral after reacting to a large number of boos from the audience.

On the night, Trump – who became the first sitting president to ever attend a Super Bowl in person – made a quip at the viral Taylor Swift moment on his Truth Social platform, sharing a post from the “Libs of TikTok” account which read: “Trump gets massive cheers at the Super Bowl while Taylor Swift gets booed.”
It was Kendrick Lamar who delivered a massive spectacle at the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime show, with his set including appearances from SZA, Serena Williams and Samuel L. Jackson.
During the performance, the rapper poked fun at his past feud with Drake and made a quip about the rapper suing Universal Music Group after the success of diss track ‘Not Like Us’. It also spawned a new meme across social media, with many noticing Lamar taking a second to smirk at the camera as he dropped the song’s line: “Say Drake, I hear you like ’em young.”
As for Cardi B, the rapper had been uncertain about both candidates – Donald Trump and Joe Biden – and said that her choice would be reliant on her choosing “the lesser evil”. After Biden dropped out of the race and was replaced by Kamala Harris, she threw her weight behind the Democratic candidate and appeared as a guest speaker at Harris’ rally in Milwaukee.
