The day began early, with a private airstrip bathed in the soft glow of the rising sun. Nevada had been assigned to a sleek, silver private jet. These flights were often less stressful than commercial ones. Passengers on private jets tended to be familiar faces—celebrities, business moguls, and sports stars—people who enjoyed more relaxed and personalized service. Nevada liked these flights because they felt more like hosting a cocktail party in the air.

The rumors swirling around the plane’s passenger added an extra layer of excitement to the morning. No one had dropped any names, but the way her supervisor spoke suggested the passenger was someone with a large public profile. Nevada was intrigued, especially since she had heard that the owner of the jet was a big deal, possibly internationally renowned. She carefully checked the catering supplies, making sure everything was in place. Every seat cushion had to be perfect, every glass polished, and the interior had to exude modern luxury. The first sign that this flight would be different came when a tall, broad-shouldered man in a navy suit approached her on the tarmac. He introduced himself as Carter, a personal assistant for the jet’s owner. Nevada raised an eyebrow, surprised that the actual owner would be boarding the plane. This piqued Nevada’s curiosity, and she wondered who the mystery passenger could be. She asked Carter if she could prepare anything special, but he waved it off, assuring her that his boss didn’t like fuss. Just treat him like any other passenger, he said.

As the plane’s owner arrived, Nevada’s curiosity grew. The man stepped out of a luxury SUV, tall and imposing, wearing an unzipped hoodie, track pants, and high-end sneakers. He walked with the athletic grace of someone who was used to commanding a court or field. Nevada thought for a moment, trying to place him, and guessed that he might be a professional athlete. She smiled and offered him a seat, telling him she would bring him a drink once they were airborne. He nodded politely, distracted, and made his way into the plane.
