NBA analyst PROVES LeBron James is the ‘most clutch’ player’, dismisses Kobe, MJ, Steph from discussion
The Clutch Player of the Year award has sparked a heated debate among analysts such as Nick Wright, co-host of the FS1 show “First Things First”. Wright believes that LeBron James is the most clutch player of his generation and one of the most clutch players of all time, challenging the traditional view that Jordan and Bryant were the greatest clutch players.
The NBA has recently introduced a new award called the Clutch Player of the Year, which acknowledges the player with the most exceptional performance in the final five minutes of the fourth quarter, widely known as the “clutch” moment. The award seeks to honor players who excel in high-pressure situations. De’Aaron Fox of the Sacramento Kings was awarded the first-ever Clutch Player of the Year award for his remarkable performance.
The NBA’s decision to introduce this award highlights the importance of performing under pressure in basketball. The ability to deliver in clutch moments is what separates a good player from a great player. The playoffs, which are currently underway, provide the perfect stage for players to showcase their clutch abilities.
LeBron James: The Most Clutch Player of All Time?

Wright backed up his claim with several statistics. For example, he noted that when it comes to shots taken in the last minute to either tie or take the lead, James had the second-highest field goal percentage, while Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant ranked 6th and 15th, respectively.
Even when the time frame was extended to six minutes with a minimum of 60 shots taken, LeBron ranked higher than Kobe and Curry. In addition, James also ranked higher than his counterparts when it came to shots taken in the last five seconds of playoff games.
“LeBron is the most clutch player of his generation and that he is one of the most clutch players ever while Kobe was inefficient and not effective. People just don’t wanna hear it.”
”I do a sports talk show and he is the greatest athelete of all time, so it does generate some passion but I am also passionate in debunking myths.”
Wright’s argument challenges the traditional view that Jordan and Bryant were the most clutch players of all time. He claims that Kobe was inefficient and not effective in clutch moments, while the debate about the most clutch player of all time is unlikely to be resolved anytime soon.
Wright’s argument makes a compelling case for LeBron James. It highlights the importance of looking beyond popular perceptions and analyzing statistical data to evaluate a player’s performance under pressure.
