Listen to this Lamborghini Aventador SVJ scream like an F1 car on the Autobahn
Need a pick-me-up? You’re in the right place. Turn up your speakers and enjoy the amazing sound of this Lamborghini Aventador SVJ doing a high-speed run on the Autobahn complete with an exhaust that spits flames.
You’ll find the driver in this video from AutoTopNL flipping up and down the gear range even when he doesn’t have to. We can’t say we blame him considering the noise. The sound from this Aventador’s V12 becomes a howl at around 4,000 rpm and becomes a scream as the powerplant gets closer to 9,000 rpm.
The Aventador SVJ makes a fantastic sound in stock form, but it’s not usually this raw. The sound here seems to evoke the howl of V12-powered Formula One cars in the early 1990s. The video doesn’t specify what set of pipes this Lamborghini uses, but folks in the YouTube comments speculate this is possibly a Gintani system.
Beyond highlighting the impressive sound, the driver lets the Aventador SVJ stretch its legs. The car is able to max out at 193.2 mph — seriously fast for a public road with traffic on it. The factory-rated top speed is 216 mph, meaning this Lamborghini still had lots of speed to give.
The SVJ uses a version of Lamborghini’s 6.5-litre V12 making 759 bhp and 531 lb-ft of torque. The only gearbox available is a seven-speed automated manual. It also features active aerodynamics that can provide high downforce or low drag depending on the driving conditions. We suspect the low drag setup was being used here to achieve such a high speed.
These days, the Internet is loaded with videos of the McLaren 600LT spitting flames. And with those top-mounted exhaust pipes, we can see why the British missile is such a social media hit. However, we’re a bit tired of all the Woking fiery tricks, so, for the sake of variety, we’ll bring back another fiery topic, one that involves the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ.
The Sant’Agata Bolognese toy also likes to act like a dragon and we’ve now brought along a brief adventure that sees the Superveloce Jota putting on quite a show.
Thanks to the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, you’ll get to see the V12 monster demonstrating that the first part of “internal combustion engine” is relative.
And since the Raging Bull is animated by a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter heart, the soundtrack of the stunt is just as impressive as the visual side. Thus, we’re inviting you to turn up the volume before reaching for that “play” button.
Speaking of the Aventador SVJ, we’ll remind you the Roadster incarnation of the 770 hp beast was just one of the machines the Italian automotive producer displays at the Geneva Motor Show (for the record, the Geneva display car comes dressed in a splendid shade called Bronzo Zenas).
The Swiss event also sees Sant’Agata Bolognese introducing the Huracan Evo to the world. In fact, the mid-cycle revamp for the company’s V10 toy has already been spotted out in the wild – we brought you a pair of photos portraying a Lamborghini Huracan Evo dressed in Giallo Inti yesterday.
The Geneva Motor Show also brought us a preview for what could be Lamborghini’s return to the front-engined Grand Tourer genre. We’re referring to the Italdesign DaVinci, a concept car that stole our heart. And here’s to hoping the thing makes it into production, with or without the Lamborghini badgeThe Lamborghini Aventador SVJ has an absolutely wild launch control system and, if the supercar’s engine is warm enough when accelerating off the line, it can spew flames like a rocket before take-off.
This video from Germany shows a grey Aventador SVJ going against an Audi R8 down an empty runway during a recent drag racing event held by The Drivers Club. If you weren’t already a fan of the hardcore Raging Bull (which we doubt…), watching one launch like this is bound to win you over.
As you probably already know, the SVJ is powered by a naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12. This is the same basic engine used in all Aventadors, but it has undergone a series of modifications, so it now pumps out 759 hp and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) of torque. Other upgrades made to the Italian supercar include a bespoke exhaust system with two large tailpipes which exit out of the center of the rear fascia – and, as you can see, have a habit of shooting flames when drivers depress the accelerator.
What’s particularly cool about this video is that the Aventador doesn’t just spit flames at the start line; even as it accelerates down the runway, it continues to breath fire.
We’ve seen a number of wild SVJs get delivered this year, including one painted in a shade dubbed Rosso Efesto back in March as well as a matte purple example with gold wheels we first noticed back in May. Color, though, is a non-issue compared to the performance and flame-spitting show the super Lambo can put on.
