It’s been a strange year for Novak Djokovic. The 37-year-old has suffered several uncharacteristic defeats, going on a three-match losing streak and, most recently, crashing out in the opening round of the Monte-Carlo Masters. But there have also been some brilliant runs.
Djokovic beat Carlos Alcaraz en route to the Australian Open semi-final. He also reached his 60th Masters final at the Miami Open. Djokovic is still trying to hit two huge milestones – winning his 100th career title and his 25th Grand Slam. However, he’s now been told that he won’t be able to make history.

Djokovic is still trying to hit two huge milestones – winning his 100th career title and his 25th Grand Slam. However, he’s now been told that he won’t be able to make history.
The Serb lifted his 24th Major title at the 2023 US Open, becoming the first player in the Open Era to win 24 Slams. However, in the all-time record books, he is tied with Margaret Court and is keen to get his 25th trophy to stand alone.
The current world No. 5 also has 99 titles to his name and is seeking a milestone 100th. He’s already lost finals in Shanghai and Miami, coming painfully close to the centennial figure.
Only two players have more on the ATP Tour – Roger Federer with 103, and Jimmy Connors with 109. But tennis fans believe Djokovic won’t catch either of them.
An overwhelming 73 per cent of Express Sport readers said Djokovic would not surpass Federer’s 103 titles.

There isn’t much optimism when it comes to Djokovic winning another Major either, as 73 per cent also claimed he would not lift a Slam trophy with new coach Andy Murray in his corner.
Since his 2023 US Open triumph, Djokovic has only reached one Major final at Wimbledon, losing to Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets.
But the world No. 5 still has his eyes firmly on the prize. After his shock opening-round exit at the Monte-Carlo Masters, Djokovic was asked about his goals for the clay season.
“Roland Garros. That’s it,” he smiled.
