Ben Affleck finally runs out of goodwill and hurts Jennifer Lopez again amid inauguration controversy

The year 2024 was tough for Jennifer Lopez, and 2025 is not off to an amazing start, either. Though she has been lauded for her performance in the new sports biopic “Unstoppable” and has been linked romantically with Hollywood titan Kevin Costner, Lopez is still a woman getting over heartbreak following her divorce from Ben Affleck — signifying the end of her fourth marriage

Making matters worse for Lopez is the treatment she continues to receive from her ex-husband and even the United States‘ political elite. Lopez endorsed Kamala Harris for president in the 2024 election; as Donald Trump was inaugurated for a second term on Monday, political commentator Megyn Kelly slammed Lopez as an “expert” in “ruining marriages”, all while Affleck‘s behavior toward J.Lo is coming under more scrutiny.

It took more than four months, but Lopez and Affleck have finally settled their divorce. However, those months were arduous months, featuring bitter arguments over how the couple’s assets should be split.

And in a surprise development, Affleck’s ex-wife Jennifer Garner is siding with Lopez in the aftermath of the divorce.

“Jen has a huge amount of sway with Ben these days, so she does feel quite obligated to police his behavior, particularly when it comes to the way he’s been treating J.Lo,” an insider told In Touch Weekly. “He’s been so impatient with her and actually quite ungrateful, at least in Jen’s view

Affleck reportedly remains frustrated over perceived “micromanagement” from Lopez, which seems to have come from a place of continuing to try and blend their two families. Affleck and Garner share three children, while Lopez has two twins from another ex, Marc Anthony. Lopez has demonstrated a strong devotion to making that arrangement hold up, even if Affleck bristles under continued contact with her.

“Jen is very impressed with how devoted to the kids J.Lo still is,” the insider said of Garner’s mindset. “She has stuck to her word and continued to be in their lives, even though Ben hasn’t exactly done the same for J. Lo’s twins. Jen has admonished him for that big time and ordered him to step up his efforts.”
