Ben Affleck gets an unwelcome visitor amid Jennifer Lopez divorce and raging LA wildfires

Ben Affleck is trying to turn the page from a tumultuous 2024, but the star actor’s 2025 has not gotten off to the strongest of starts.

Affleck and Jennifer Lopez settled their divorce in the first days of the year, bringing an official end to the power couple’s turbulent two-year marriage. In addition, wildfires around the Los Angeles area have prompted devastation and panic, as thousands of people have evacuated amidst the destruction of their homes and businesses due to the uncontrolled flames. And as if that wasn’t enough for Affleck, he might have just run afoul of law enforcement, in a development that may bring the slightest of smirks to Lopez‘s face.

Local cops and FBI agents visited Affleck

Over the weekend, as wildfires continued to smolder around LA, local police and federal agents paid a visit to Affleck at his home in Brentwood, California — after the “Gone Girl” star had taken refuge with his first ex-wife Jennifer Garner amid the fires.

The motive for cops’ visit to the Affleck home centered on concerns over “unauthorized drone activity” taking place amid the chaos of the wildfires. However, Affleck himself seems to be in the clear — according to the New York Post, the 52-year-old was contacted as FBI agents sought CCTV footage of a privately-owned drone that damaged a firefighting aircraft known as a super scooper. The drone in question does not belong to Affleck.

Last week, Affleck drove over to Garner‘s home to take refuge with their three children: VioletSeraphina, and Samuel. The Pacific Palisades fire threatened Affleck’s property and his life, but he returned home safely after one day with Garner. And even as their divorce has been finalized, Lopez has continued to check in with Affleck — a pattern described as “regular contact” — as the fires continue to wreak havoc on one of the largest cities in the United States.
