Remake de “Blanche-Neige” par Disney : Polémique enflamme les fans, avant-première réduite !

The upcoming live-action remake of Disney’s “Snow White” has been plagued by controversy, leading the studio to take a low-key approach to the film’s premiere, according to industry experts.

Movie critic Scott “Movie” Mantz discussed the issues surrounding the project, ranging from the depiction of the iconic Seven Dwarfs, potential failure at the box office and controversy surrounding the film’s two stars.

Actor Pierre Dinklage was “very upset” about the initial depiction of the Seven Dwarfs, prompting the studio to create CGI characters instead, Mantz said.

The film’s star, Rachel Zegler, made “comments that were not very nice about the original ‘Snow White,’” Mantz added, with her purportedly criticizing the 1937 animated classic, claiming the character was not a strong woman and needed to be updated.

Adding to the tensions, Zegler’s pro-Palestinian stance has clashed with the views of her co-star, Gal Gadot, who was born in Israel and is vocal about her support for the country.

In an effort to minimize the negative buzz, Disney is taking an understated approach to the film’s premiere on March 15. Instead of the typical red carpet event with dozens of entertainment outlets, the studio is limiting the coverage to a small in-house crew and photographers.

“They don’t want to put either Rachel Zegler or Gal Gadot on the spot where their comments could be taken out of context,” Mantz said. “They just don’t want to take any chance with it.”

The film is scheduled to open in theaters on March 21, after numerous delays. Mantz is skeptical about its prospects, predicting it will “bomb” due to the ongoing controversies.

The live-action remake of “Snow White” is the latest in a long line of Disney’s attempts to adapt its animated classics for modern audiences. However, the general consensus, Mantz said, is that these remakes have had “diminishing results,” with the public often viewing them as mere cash grabs.
