Selena Gomez cries her eyes out on Instagram before urgently deleting her content

On her Instagram account, Selena Gomez reportedly deleted a post in which, in tears, she expressed her concern about the fate of Mexicans. The actress regretted their expulsion.

Officially President of the United States since January 20, 2025, Donald Trump was quick to implement his campaign promises, much to the dismay of Selena Gomez . And in particular the expulsion of many Mexican migrants. Indeed, Mexico has received 4,000 migrants expelled from the United States since the American president took office. 

President Claudia Sheinbaum has indeed confirmed that Mexico had received four planes with expelled foreigners on board. All during the week of January 20 to 26. The week that corresponds to the inauguration of the 47th President of the United States.

Donald Trump has also warned and threatened Mexico and Canada with certain sanctions if the two neighbors of the United States did not take certain measures. Indeed, the American president threatened his neighbors with increasing customs tariffs on their exports to the United States if no measures were taken against illegal immigration.

This is why many Mexicans had to return to their country of origin in the space of a few days. A situation that clearly affected Selena Gomez, herself of Mexican origin. The 32-year-old artist, star of Jacques Audiard’s film, Emilia Perez, recently spoke about this on her social networks… before retracting her statement.

Indeed, the X PopBase account reported that Selena Gomez had posted a video on her Instagram account, in which she appeared to be crying. She was crying because of the recent expulsions of Mexicans.

“Apparently, it’s not good to show empathy for people,” she reportedly said, in tears, in the said video. However, as the X PopBase account points out, the video has since disappeared from the artist’s Instagram account.

“Selena Gomez deleted her emotional video in which she was crying because of the expulsions of Mexicans,” the account in question specified. It remains to be seen why the 32-year-old singer and actress wanted to retract her statement after posting her video. 

Indeed, for the moment, the main person concerned has not spoken out to explain the reasons for the deletion of her video. We will therefore have to be patient, even if there is no guarantee that she will explain her actions in the hours or days to come.
