Maggie Sajak could be next host of WOF if Ryan Seacrest doesn’t renew contract

Maggie could take over the hosting role if Ryan Seacrest

Maggie Sajak could replace Ryan Seacrest as host if he doesn’t renew his contract.

Seacrest, 49, took over the hosting duties this fall after Maggie’s father, Pat Sajak, retired following 40 years as the iconic host.

Maggie has remained with the show in her role as a correspondent, using Instagram and TikTok to engage fans and boost the show’s online presence.

“It’s important to allow Maggie to develop her own voice when it comes to the Wheel fan base, and that makes her incredibly valuable to Sony TV,” an insider told The U.S. Sun.

Seacrest’s role has reportedly boosted ratings, but he only signed a two-year contract, leaving Wheel of Fortune’s future uncertain.

“Sony loves the ratings and wants to negotiate a much longer contract for Ryan, but right now they have to have contingency plans in place in case Ryan simply decides to move on,” the insider added.

If Seacrest leaves, Maggie is positioned to step in as a potential host.

“Maggie has positioned herself to help out if there’s a hosting vacancy, and the franchise is in her blood and her appreciation for the world of Wheel of Fortune is genuine,” the source said.

Despite the uncertainty about Seacrest’s future, Wheel execs want to keep Maggie on the show long-term.

“Maggie’s already proven herself to be a super-valuable member of the Wheel family, especially during this time of transition,” the insider explained.

In addition to her role on Wheel of Fortune, Maggie recently became a licensed attorney. She proudly announced her achievement in November.

“Thank you to everyone who supported me through this journey. Excited to do some good with this in the future,” she said.

Maggie received her law license from the State Bar of California on September 7, 2024, after graduating from Georgetown University Law School in May 2023.
