The NBA’s main man recently took a savage dig at players complaining about rule changes.

Silver recently delivered a sharp and humorous response to the ongoing complaints from players about officiating. He stopped for a lengthy press conference just ahead of the second night of All-Star Weekend and addressed the league wide frustration. And when asked about what he would do if he was a player for one day, he opened up.

“I would stop complaining about officiating,” Silver said.

However, players have been coming out open against the league officials blowing out whistles on occasions lately. Despite the use of technology like replay monitors to aid referees, officiating remains a contentious issue in the NBA. Each night, players and coaches find themselves debating missed calls and questionable fouls.

Silver acknowledges that referees, much like players, are human and prone to error. According to him, rather than harping on every call, players should acknowledge the difficulties officials face. And they should focus on improving their own game instead.

Adam Silver Addressed Dallas Fans’ Agitation Over Luka Doncic Trade

Other than the officiating issues, NBA fans recently had a bigger reason to show their emotions. The unexpected Luka Doncic trade had them unsettled, especially the Dallas fans. Adam Silver addressed the anger among the Mavericks fans following the shocking trade.

During the press conference before NBA All-Star Saturday Night, the commissioner acknowledged the frustration expressed by the fanbase. Especially considering that the Mavs had advanced to the Finals just the previous year.

“In terms of anger at the fanbase, I’m empathetic. I understand it. I mean, Dallas was in the Finals last year. Whether or not history will ultimately judge this as a smart trade, they did what they thought was in the best interest of their organization,” he said. “I have absolutely no knowledge or belief there were any ulterior motives,” Silver said.

Despite the uproar, Silver emphasized that there were no hidden agendas behind the trade. He was equally surprised, like most of the Dallas fans. Additionally, Silver tackled rampant conspiracy theories that surfaced about the motivations behind the trade. One such theory suggested that Mavs ownership could be maneuvering to pressure Texas into legalizing gambling.
