All the LeBron James critics can take a rest for now…

LeBron James

The Akron-born basketball superstar is not going anywhere, not for a couple of years at least. James is enjoying the 22nd year of his storied basketball career, and the latest words from an NBA insider suggest he will be adding more to it.

While many believed that the Los Angeles Lakers were almost having second thoughts on LeBron, the bubble couldn’t last long. Recently, NBA insider Brian Windhorst sat down to talk about LA’s situation post-trade deadline. He talked about the roster management and unknowingly stirred the pot about James’ probable future.

“I really like what the Lakers have on their roster. I believe they can add a big man over the summer, and I really like where they’re going to be heading into next season. Unlike other people, I don’t think the end is near for LeBron James. I think he’s got a runway left, he can still be an All-NBA player next year. I see no reason why, a year from now, they can’t be a team that is really hunting for that top spot—that title,” Windhorst said.

However, longevity is expected from him as another superstar, Doncic, is at the helm. While both of them will be orchestrating the play for the Lakers, Bron will mostly make it playable for Luka. Although it’s a team effort that wins you games, keeping the best gun preserved for the main battle makes sense.

LeBron James Makes Another Lakers History

After Doncic arrived at the camp, it was up to James to make the most out of his learnings and pass it on to the former Mavs star. Now that they have officially started tuning up, James added yet another tag to his basketball lore.

He recently surpassed Hall of Famer Jamaal Wilkes to claim the 10th spot on the franchise’s all-time scoring list. It came during a challenging game against the Utah Jazz, where LeBron added 18 points to his total. And that brought his Lakers career tally to 10,603 points.

This milestone is particularly praiseworthy as he achieved this feat over just seven seasons with the team. Wilkes, who played for the Lakers from 1977 to 1985, scored 10,601 points in his own right.

While LeBron’s scoring outplay is undeniable, he is also keenly aware of the team dynamic. Even with this personal milestone, he remains focused on the larger goal of team success. The Lakers have welcomed a new superstar, Luka Doncic, into their fold, and in a gracious gesture, LeBron allowed Doncic to be introduced last during his debut.
