Nikola Jokic has been in some red-hot form this season.

Having already won 3 NBA MVP awards, the Serbian is looking to close in on LeBron James’ historic feat. For the uninitiated, it will be winning the 4th MVP. And by the looks of it, Jokic can very well cruise to make history this season. Right from the start, the 30-year-old center has been on song. And going into the All-Star break, the Denver Nuggets looked like the hottest team in the NBA.
Despite a below-expectation start, the only reason that the Nuggets are in a favorable position is Jokic. At the moment, the Nuggets’ center is averaging a career-high 29.8 points per game. And that is not all. Add to that an incredible 12.6 rebounds, 10.2 assists, and 1.8 steals on an average per game. After suffering a loss against the Los Angeles Lakers, Jokic ensured his team got back to winning quickly.
And he did it in some style! Facing off against the Indiana Pacers, Nikola Jokic had a whopping 19 assists to his name! He also scored an average of 45% three-pointers, which is, again, a career-high for him. Jokic’s never-ending list of accolades also includes a 33.4 PER, which is a first time in the NBA. Surely, looking at his numbers, it can be said that the Serbian is giving some tough competition to Lakers’ LeBron James. Meanwhile, just to get a hint of what the threat of Jokic looks like to his opponents, the excerpts from a couple of coaches will be enough.
JJ Redick Makes An Honest Confession About Nikola Jokic
Riding on a Luka Doncic special, the Los Angeles Lakers managed to stop the Denver Nuggets juggernaut. However, that did not mean that JJ Redick had a sound sleep the night before the game. Terrified to face the likes of Nikola Jokic, Redick confessed that he had trouble sleeping for a couple of nights.
Not only Redick but the former Lakers’ coach Darvin Ham echoed similar sentiments back in his day. Ham opined, “It’s like, ****, I don’t know what to do. Catch him out of his house and kidnap him.”
Thus, with the MVP award pretty much in clear sight, Nikola Jokic will surely be aiming to clinch it. However, whether or not he will get it is the big question now.
