He’ll play the team he left a few weeks ago, there will be a lot of energy. NBA veteran talked candidly with the media recently about his trade from the Miami Heat and the possibility of playing for the first time with his new team later this season. Butler said that he had no ill will against the company and commended them instead of criticizing the franchise following an acrimonious exit.

Butler stated on The Kris Fade Show, “It’s all love. I’ve been in the trenches with Miami for the past 6 seasons. The way they want to beat me, I promise you it’s just as personal for me as well. Love those guys over there. Great organization. It didn’t end the way everybody hoped but that’s part of the business. I don’t have anything bad to say about that organization.”

When Butler returns to the Kaseya Center in Miami on Tuesday, March 25, to play the team he left a few weeks ago, there will be a lot of energy. Even though Jimmy did a lot of good in the city, he did not depart on good terms, and when he comes to their arena, neither the team nor the fans will likely be friendly.

When Jimmy Butler joined the Heat in 2019, he got off to a tremendous start. Once he established a rapport with Pat Riley and Erik Spoelstra, he assumed leadership of the club and guided them to two NBA Finals in six seasons. Butler and essential players like Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo helped the Heat become a constant threat in the East.

But his faith in the Heat started to wane when Butler was involved in NBA trade speculations last summer without a contract deal to protect his future. Butler and Heat President Pat Riley’s relationship deteriorated to the point that the locker room became poisonous, forcing the organization to suspend its best player.

Jimmy Butler Looking Forward To Win A Championship With The Warriors

We have often witnessed Jimmy Butler, one of the NBA’s top defensive players, step up in the postseason. He has, nonetheless, also damaged a number of relationships in the process. Because of that, his high contract, age, and previous injury troubles made him a hazardous gamble for the Golden State Warriors.

Butler talked candidly about his excitement about working with Stephen Curry on Virgin Radio DXB.

Butler said, “I’m so happy over there. [Warriors are] top-notch. I get to play with Steph [Curry] so I’m a fan of him, just like 99.9% of the world and a chance of winning a championship. What more can you ask for?”

Butler sought a fresh start after his relationship with the Miami Heat reached a breaking point. And in the Bay region, he’s receiving that opportunity. We’ve seen the Warriors get hot and go on big streaks before. Also, they’re not that far behind in the postseason race. They will play as though this is their final opportunity to take home another ring during the Curry era.
