LeBron James has, by now, attained a legendary status in the NBA.

With his superior showing, James has defied all the odds up until now. Still going strong at the age of 40, King James is proving every day why he is the best of the lot in the NBA at the moment. Playing against the Portland Trail Blazers, James dropped a whopping 40 points to clinch a 110-102 victory at the Moda Center. More importantly, this was James’ back-to-back game as he also appeared against the Charlotte Hornets last night. Such a dedication has left coach JJ Redick mightily impressed.

In a recent interaction, Redick got candid about LeBron James toiling hard each day. This is despite the fact that he is a billionaire and has nothing to lose at this point.

Marveling at King James, Redick stated, “He’s a billionaire and he’s playing on the second night of a back-to-back at 40 after 22 years with every freaking record and accolade. And the kids will say I’m glazing him. He’s one of the greatest competitors.”

Surely, such a comment about James is pretty much normal. After all, despite all the retirement rumors, Brian Windhorst had quite an interesting take on the matter.

Brian Windhorst Chimes In On LeBron James Retirement Rumors

There has been much discussion about whether LeBron James should hang up his boots. However, NBA Insider Brian Windhorst seemed pretty confident that James still has quite some time left in him. Windhorst stated that the end is definitely not near.

“I really like what the Lakers have on their roster. I believe they can add a big man over the summer, and I really like where they’re going to be heading into next season. Unlike other people, I don’t think the end is near for LeBron James. I think he’s got a runway left, he can still be an All-NBA player next year. I see no reason why, a year from now, they can’t be a team that is really hunting for that top spot—that title,” Windhorst said via ESPN NBA.


Thus, even at 40, LeBron James is still pretty much relevant and in the news. This goes on to showcase how big of a star James is. While there are surely a lot more matches left in him, it will be interesting to see how things take shape from here on.
