While it marked their sixth win in seven games, it also brought a moment of concern as Stephen Curry suffered an ankle injury during the contest.

While playing in his annual homecoming game in Charlotte, Curry rolled his ankle but remained in the game. Afterward, he downplayed the injury, offering reassurance to fans and reporters.

“It’s a minor tweak; it feels alright right now,” Curry said.

Despite his confident response, when asked about his availability for the Warriors’ upcoming game against the New York Knicks, Curry acknowledged that his participation would depend on how his ankle feels.

“I think I’m going to play, but if my ankle says I shouldn’t play, I won’t play,” he added.

Curry finished the game with 21 points and 10 assists. With this performance, he became the fourth-oldest player in league history to record two consecutive games with at least 20 points and 10 assists.

Jimmy Butler’s Arrival Takes Pressure Off Stephen Curry

Jimmy Butler’s arrival has not only strengthened the Warriors squad but has also taken pressure off Stephen Curry. Renowned analyst Stephen A. Smith highlighted Butler’s immediate impact during an episode of Get Up on ESPN, sharing how his presence has significantly benefited the team, especially Curry.

“Jimmy Butler has upgraded Golden State significantly. Him getting to the free throw line has taken a lot of the pressure off Steph Curry. He benefits Steph almost as much as Klay Thompson did,” Smith said.

Both Curry and Butler blended well in the Warriors lineup. Golden State’s 8-1 run with Butler in the lineup is evidence of how seamlessly they have fit into the team’s system. If Butler’s influence remains as strong as it has been so far, Golden State could once again find themselves among the league’s top championship contenders.
