Joining the league back in 2003, James has gone on to create ripples in the NBA dynamics. Playing in his 22nd season this year, James seems to have retained the same amount of zeal as before. And en route to his journey of greatness, the 40-year-old is climbing up the ladders of being the all-time greatest. In their recent matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers, LeBron James clinched his 1000 career win in the NBA regular season!

And this is, by no means, any ordinary feat. LeBron James has now become only the fourth NBA athlete to achieve this milestone. Currently ranked fourth in the All-Time Career Win leaderboard, James is very close to rise further up the order.

At the third position is the San Antonio Spurs legend Tim Duncan. And he has 1001 wins, which means James would need only 2 more victories to eclipse Duncan’s record. However, the Lakers’ legend will have a significant amount of tasks to do if he wants to top the chart. For in first and second place are Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Robert Parish, who have 1074 and 1014 wins, respectively.

Meanwhile, James is not only concerned with extending his own personal accolades. He is also quite upset about the future of the NBA. Especially in the manner that the media is treating them.

LeBron James Criticizes Media For Their ‘Harsh’ Treatment Of The NBA Athletes

The media can be a tricky thing. While it has the power to make the popularity of an athlete skyrocket, it can also make it plummet in an instance. Now, in recent times, the media has been particularly handling the NBA’s young athletes in a harsh manner. Well, that is what LeBron James thinks. Commenting on who the next face of the NBA might be, James opined that the younger stars are significantly afraid to step up.

“Channing Frye said it the other day, too. It’s unfortunate but, why do you want to be the face of the league when all the people that cover our game and talk about our game on a day-to-day basis s*** on everybody? To have that responsibility is weird. It’s weird energy. I don’t know, Channing said it perfectly,” said James.

Thus, it is evident that LeBron James is a leader in the true sense. However, whether his words will change the media’s attitude towards the players in the future remains to be seen.
