Blake Lively is currently facing intense emotional distress as she battles a legal dispute with her *This Is Us* costar Justin Baldoni.
The actress, best known for her role in *Gossip Girl*, claims that the ongoing lawsuit is not only impacting her own well-being but also severely affecting her family.
In a recent amended complaint filed in New York federal court, Lively has stated
that her children, James (10), Inez (8), Betty (5), and Olin (2), have been ‘traumatized’ by the legal battle,
which she claims has caused them emotional upheaval and significantly impacted their overall happiness.
Blake and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, have been very vocal about the toll the legal drama is taking on their lives.
Reynolds, who is also deeply involved in the lawsuit, is said to be struggling with the mental and physical consequences of the case, as both he and Blake try to manage the stress it has brought into their home. Lively mentioned that the tension from the lawsuit has left her emotionally drained, with some days being so difficult that she struggles to get out of bed. She also reported experiencing physical symptoms of stress, though the exact nature of these symptoms has not been disclosed.
According to the complaint, Lively’s distress has been so profound that she has been choosing to stay indoors, avoiding public appearances, and missing out on events she typically enjoys, such as the Michael Kors fashion show. The document reveals that despite her best efforts to continue managing her career and personal life, she is privately dealing with overwhelming grief, fear, and anxiety. Reynolds has also expressed concern for his wife and children, stating that the pain they are enduring has affected him both personally and professionally.
This legal battle stems from Lively’s original lawsuit against Baldoni, which she filed in December 2024, accusing him of sexual harassment and attempting to destroy her reputation. She claims that Baldoni’s behavior on the set of the film *It Ends With Us* created an uncomfortable environment for her and other women, though she has not disclosed the identities of the other women allegedly harassed. Baldoni’s lawyer has yet to respond to these allegations, and in January, Baldoni filed a counterclaim, suing the couple for $400 million.
The legal drama has become a topic of public discussion, particularly after Reynolds made light of the situation during his appearance at *Saturday Night Live’s* 50th Anniversary Special. During the show, Reynolds jokingly referenced the legal dispute with Baldoni, which prompted Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, to express surprise and concern over Reynolds’ choice to joke about such a serious matter.
As the lawsuit continues to unfold, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds remain in the spotlight, with their personal struggles becoming part of the ongoing legal drama. This case has garnered significant media attention, highlighting the emotional and psychological toll that legal battles can have on families, particularly when they involve high-profile figures. Both Lively and Reynolds are working to navigate this difficult period while trying to protect their children from the fallout of the legal proceedings.
