Big Move at Fox News: Anchor Will Cain Rises Amid Sweeping Schedule Changes.
Fox News Media has unveiled a dynamic overhaul of its programming, putting a spotlight on longtime host and commentator Will Cain. The network announced Monday that Cain will now helm his very own show—“The Will Cain Show”—which will take over the coveted 4 PM ET weekday slot.
For the past four years, Cain has been a trusted voice on Fox News, and he’s excited to take this next step. “It has been an honor to wake up with America these past four years, and I’m thrilled to apply my background in news, law, entertainment, and business to help our viewers better understand the headlines through thought-provoking content and analysis every weekday afternoon,” Cain shared in the release.
What’s New on the Air:
A Fresh Podcast-Style Format: “The Will Cain Show” promises a comprehensive dive into the day’s news, blending the depth of podcast storytelling with live, engaging conversations.
Insightful Interviews: Expect dynamic discussions with newsmakers from politics, business, culture, and sports, ensuring a well-rounded look at today’s biggest stories.
In this strategic shakeup, Cain’s move marks his final appearance on “Fox & Friends Weekend” on January 18. Stepping into his previous role is Fox News contributor Charlie Hurt—currently the opinion editor at The Washington Times—who will leave his post to join the network full-time.
Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott explained the shift:
“As the media landscape continues to evolve, we are always looking to innovate our programming lineup to meet the needs of our viewers. We are confident the new lineup will best position FOX News Media for the future. Will Cain brings years of experience as an accomplished broadcaster and lawyer, and we look forward to his unique insights as we navigate another historic news cycle this year.”
Beyond Television:
Cain will also continue hosting “The Will Cain Show” via podcast from Monday through Thursday. This dual-platform approach blends the worlds of news and sports with interactive listener engagement—promising fresh, innovative content that extends well beyond traditional broadcasting.
Cain himself couldn’t hide his excitement, taking to X (formerly Twitter) to announce:
“So I’ve got some news. And I couldn’t be more excited!”
A familiar face in the industry, Cain’s career highlights include stints as a contributor for ESPN and host of his own show on ESPN Radio from January 2018 to June 2020, alongside contributions to CNN and Blaze Media.
And There’s More:
Fox News Media also announced that Dagen McDowell will join “The Big Money Show” on Fox Business Network. The program’s schedule will expand to a 12-2 PM ET weekday slot starting January 27, while McDowell continues to co-host “The Bottom Line” from 6-7 PM ET.
With these exciting changes, Fox News is setting the stage for a bold new era of programming. Stay tuned as Will Cain and the rest of the team bring fresh perspectives and engaging insights to screens and airwaves nationwide!
